There's a traitor in U.A. That's a fact that most fans can agree on – there have been too many leaks and incidents for it to all be a coincidence. What fans cannot agree on is who that traitor is. There are dozens of fan theories out there, arguing all sides of the same concern.

Today, we're going to talk about two potential traitors in particular. We're going to talk about Kirishima and the odds that he's a traitor. And we're going to counter those arguments with evidence that it could be Kaminari that is the traitor.

We'll admit that the idea of either of these chill guys being the traitor is pretty horrifying – but doesn't that make it all the more fitting? So read out list and tell us who you think the traitor is in My Hero Academia.

10 Kirishima's The Traitor: Empathy for Villains

Kirishima Debut

Kirishima is a shockingly empathetic character, and that is why we adore him. But sometimes he sympathizes with characters that concern us. Most notably was the character during his first excursion with Fat Gum.

This was a small-time villain, but his sob story hit Kirishima hard, so hard that he admitted to understanding and empathizing with him. That is slightly concerning, even if Kirishima didn't mean anything more by it.

9 Kaminari's The Traitor: Villain Worship

Where Midoriya worships heroes, Kaminari seems inclined to respect villains as well. Kaminari confessed to finding one very specific antagonist interesting above all else, which is highly concerning.

That villain? Stain. As in, Stain, the hero killer. Kaminari literally said that he thought Stain was cool – specifically when they were talking about his run of killing heroes on television. On its own, that doesn't look great for a hero in training – but it wouldn't be the end of the world either. But combined with the rest of the items on this list? That's not great.

8 Kirishima's The Traitor: A Drastic Change

You may have found yourself wondering where Kirishima was during the U.A. Testing – the one where students had to beat it in order to get into the school. Kirishima was, in fact, there. He just didn't look at all the same.

Before starting U.A. Kirishima had dark black hair, and it wasn't styled in such a spiky manner. That may not seem like a big deal, on its own, but combined with the other facts in this list it's starting to look a bit more concerning.

7 Kaminari's The Traitor: Original Design

Have you seen Kaminari's original character design? Maybe it isn't fair to take that in as evidence, but we're going to do that here. Kaminari's original character design originally looked a whole lot more sinister.

That leaves us wondering if Kaminari was always intended to be a traitor, but ultimately he got a redesign to his ultimate betrayal would be much more shocking for the fans.

6 Kirishima's The Traitor: His Taste in Friends

Another concerning factor about Kirishima? He's totally willing to give anyone a try, which sounds nice in theory. But consider this: he immediately went towards making a friend with Bakugo. Bakugo, the most vocally angry character in the series (thus far).

Worse is the fact that Bakugo was specifically targeted by the League of Villains, so one has to wonder if any friendship formed with him was done by assignment. We'd like to think that Kirishima is Bakugo's friend because he honestly likes him, and for no other reason.

5 Kaminari's The Traitor: How Convenient

We all know the backlash of Kaminari's quirk; the more he uses it, the more his brain gets fried. That sounds pretty awful...assuming it's actually the truth. But what if Kaminari is simply faking so that people underestimate him when he's in that fried state?

Additionally, there have been times where Kaminari's negative side effects were quite useful. Say, when he wasn't capable of stepping up and fighting more villains. Such as during the League of Villains attack on the U.A. Students over the summer.

4 Kirishima's The Traitor: A Guilty Conscious

Remember the end of the summer training session – the one that ended so horribly? Bakugo had been kidnapped, and Kirishima was devastated about that fact. Once again, this is a fact that isn't suspicious by itself.

Kirishima could very well have just been upset because he was worried about his best friend, who was just kidnapped by a villain organization. Or he could be feeling guilty because his friend was taken by force – after he provided a tip to the League of Villains on their whereabouts.

3 Kaminari's The Traitor: His Quirk

Another concerning element? Kaminari's quirk. It allows him to communicate unmonitored over long ranges. That seems extremely useful – expect the few times that he's needed to use it (when the students were under attack) when he was mysteriously being blocked.

This is a talent that would theoretically allow Kaminari to stay in touch with the League of Villains. They would be thrilled to have a student capable of reaching out to them with all sorts of information.

2 Kirishima's The Traitor: Sitting on the Sidelines

Once again, we have another bit of information that on its own wouldn't be a big deal. But combined with everything else, it looks pretty bad. Kirishima was not involved with the fighting that occurred during the League of Villains attack on the training session.

During the entire fight, Kirishima was sitting inside one of the classrooms, safe and sound. Though perhaps very angry. This is notable, for three reasons. The first, he was out of harm's way. The second, he's one of the students seen with a cell phone on the premises. Finally, he was not seen in his bed during the night scenes. All of these combined...don't look good.

1 Kaminari's The Traitor: An Empty Bed

As we just mentioned above in Kirishima's argument, there was a scene where we could see the U.A. Students sound asleep during the training camp. Sound asleep, but with a few exceptions. Kirishima was not visible in bed. Nor was Kaminari.

That is extremely concerning since either of these students had ways of communicating with the outside world. That seems like too much for it to be a coincidence.
