Throughout My Hero Academia, Eijiro Kirishima is arguably one of the most likable characters from Class 1-A. Popular with his classmates, he's always looking to prove himself as a hero but is also willing to support others if need be.

Having been a part of two real-world villain attacks away from the school and the majority of the class in the Shie Hassaikai and Hideout Raid arcs, Kirishima has naturally been able to bond further with the other students involved in these operations, but also with others who he met during his internship.

10 Sero Will Often Joke Around With Kirishima

Anime My Hero Academia Hanta Sero Tape Barricade Kirishima

In the classroom environment, Kirishima and Sero often team up to poke fun at the angry bear himself, Bakugo, obviously feeling confident enough in their friendship that the teasing won't lead to them getting hurt. Sero adds a fourth man to the trio of Bakugo, Kirishima and Kaminari on occasion, indicating that they all get on well.

When Sero found out that Kirishima had participated in the Shie Hassaikai raid, he was one of the students who expressed concern for his friend and was slightly annoyed by the fact that he hadn't been told about the situation.

9 Fat Gum Wasn't Kirishima's First Choice For A Mentor But Helped Him More Than He Expected

Anime My Hero Academia Fat Gum Amajiki Patrol

Despite the fact that Kirishima initially states that he only chose Fat Gum for his internship because Fourth Kind wasn't taking anyone on, Kirishima almost immediately relishes the chance to work with Fat Gum, respecting him and trusting every single ounce of advice that he provides.

The two of them have to combine forces and unleash their maximum power while protecting one another when they're cut off from the main group during the Shie Hassaikai raid. Although Fat Gum had already hyped up Red Riot when he had previously apprehended an enhanced criminal, their mutual respect and camaraderie was furthered by this incident.

8 Kirishima's Bravery And Optimism Earned Him Suneater's Respect

My Hero Academia Kirishima after saving suneater Tamaki

Tamaki Amajiki is one of the Big Three, U.A.'s most gifted upperclassmen, but despite his incredible potential and strong — albeit bizarre — Quirk, he lacks in social skills and general optimism, often relying on Mirio for support.

However, after Kirishima asks Tamaki to let him join Fat Gum on an internship, the two strike an unlikely bond, with Kirishima even taking a bullet for Tamaki. Tamaki likes Kirishima partially because he reminds him of Mirio at times, with his "optimist personality."

7 Witnessing A Young Ashido Being Heroic In Public Spurred Kirishima On To Change His Life

My Hero Academia Mina Ashido teasing Kirishima

Mina Ashido and Eijiro Kirishima's friendship in the anime is one that is established more in flashbacks, whenever Kirishima reflects on the past and how he's ashamed of his helpless former self. The two occasionally converse with Ashido usually teasing him, but also asking if he's moved on from his past self after she finds out that he was a part of the Shie Hassaikai raid.

The story shows their mutual respect for how the other one lives their life, and Ashido checking up on him spurs him on further to be more confident and brave, fueling his chivalrous spirit.

6 Kirishima Reassuring And Apologizing To Asui Was The Start Of Their Closer Friendship

My Hero Academia Kirishima apologizing to Asui

Tsuyu Asui, or Froppy, is the unique froggy future-hero from Class 1-A. She appears to become friendlier with Kirishima after she confronts those who recklessly defied the rules to pursue and rescue Bakugo, crying over the things that she had said and the events that had transpired alike. Kirishima was the first to openly apologize to her, since it was ultimately his idea to go and rescue Bakugo in the first place.

The two went on to participate in the Shie Hassaikai raid, albeit in different groups due to their different internships, but they were both involved in a serious top-secret large scale project of sorts.

5 Tetsutetsu of Class 1-B Is Effectively Kirishima's Steel Equivalent

Kirishima and Tetsutetsu initially didn't like one another when they met and clashed at the U.A. Sports Festival, mainly due to their Quirks being too similar. Both heroes-in-training hardening Quirks, with Tetsutetsu's specifically being steel-based.

However, after a stalemate in the knockout battle rounds had to be settled by an arm wrestling contest, they both gained the other's respect and immediately became friends. They both did their work study with Fourth Kind and they both jump at the chance to show off their energetic manliness.

4 Todoroki And Kirishima Instigated The Bakugo Rescue Mission

My Hero Academia Todoroki ice slide

Shoto Todoroki and Kirishima don't interact with one another all that much — that is, until the situation surrounding Bakugo's kidnapping leads to them masterminding a rescue mission. Both of them came together to hatch this plan, each wracked with both concern for Bakugo and guilt for different reasons.

Todoroki thought he should have stopped the League of Villains from taking him in the first place, while Kirishima was ashamed that he wasn't even out there fighting. The two of them interact more after the events of the Hideout Raid arc, indicating that it brought them closer.

3 Kirishima Is Often In Awe Of Deku's Bravery And Heroism

Kirishima has respected or Deku since the very start of My Hero Academia, from the moment that he heard about Midoriya rushing to save Bakugo from the Sludge villain despite being Quirkless at the time.

Kirishima invited Deku to join him and Todoroki on their quest to rescue Bakugo, and it was because of Deku recognizing Bakugo and Kirishima's friendship that the students were able to safely extract him. Their bond was strengthened even further by the Shie Hassaikai raid, where they both put their lives on the line.

2 Kaminari Makes Up The Troublesome Trio With Kirishima And Bakugo

My Hero Academia Kaminari Kirishima

Denki Kaminari and Eijiro Kirishima's friendship was partially a result of pure circumstance, with the two seated behind one another in class and naturally conversing because of this. Paired with the fact that they both choose to accompany Bakugo on many of his angry escapades, it's only natural that they would become close friends.

When Kirishima defeated a villain by himself on his first day at the Fat Gum Agency, Kaminari was the first one to congratulate him and spread the news about Kirishima's impressive debut as a hero.

1 Kirishima Will Do Anything For His Buddy Bakugo

Bakugo and Kirishima from My Hero Academia.

Bakugo and Kirishima teamed up as early as the U.S.J. arc, when the League of Villains attacked and all the students were split up into groups as they fought for their lives. Kirishima and Bakugo powering their way through villains in order to get to Aizawa, Deku, and the others was the first of many times that they worked well together and ignited this unlikely friendship.

Kirishima was the one who initiated the Bakugo rescue mission along with Todoroki, with their friendship and mutual trust essentially being the glue that held the rescue plan together and helped it succeed. In any exam or exercise where Bakugo looks like he'll go solo, chances are that Kirishima will follow suit.
