Many shonen juggernauts are typically known for how wonderfully designed and memorable their characters are, and My Hero Academia is no exception. From the main character and the familiar faces that line most episodes to even villains-of-the-day and incredibly minor side characters, no amount of detail is spared. While the series tries its best to ensure that every design is given its fair share of attention, some will naturally end up more iconic than others—and recurring villains have some of the most shockingly memorable designs in the series.

Himiko Toga looks like a typical schoolgirl at first glance, but her unkempt hair, dark under-eye bags, and blood-sucking syringe getup elevates her to a new level. This makes her a wonderful choice for both amateur and pro cosplayers alike. Her design is simple enough to cosplay, but still has its more complicated parts that allow experts to shine.

10 Staring Into The Camera Portrait By Mizuvzcoz

One of the most notable parts of Himiko's design has to be her eyes, which help prevent her character from simply appearing like a cute, childlike girl. When she doesn't have her syringes equipped, they're the source of unease that visibly shows she's got more going on underneath the surface.

Mizuvzcos couldn't have done a better job at recreating Himiko's beautifully unsettling appearance. Her pose also shows off a lot of the character's personality, and it's always a plus when even those unfamiliar with the series can get a read on her character.

9 Reimagined In A Steampunk Aesthetic By Yanderacosplay

It's one thing for a dedicated fan to recreate their most beloved characters—but it's another level of creativity when they reimagine their designs. It takes a lot of skill to drastically change up a character's appearance while still keeping the original feel of them intact, and yanderacosplay did a splendid job with her steampunk Himiko design.

Her dedication to Himiko's character doesn't stop there, either. She's done several other themed photoshoots around the villain, including a cheerleader outfit and several casual looks that still manage to keep her personality intact.

8 A Personally Prepared Dinner For Two By Hellscuteexecuter

Changing up a character's outfit isn't the only way that cosplayers show off their own personal touches of creativity. The theme of and props included in the shoot itself can also speak volumes about both the cosplayer and character, and hellscuteexecuter went above and beyond with their set for Himiko.

She looks as if she's just greeted you to a romantic dinner, but it only takes a moment to realize something isn't quite right. The main course might not be appetizing to anyone except potentially Himiko herself, but it displays her personality perfectly.

7 The Object Of Her Obsessions By Aliabides

Ever since first laying her sights on Izuku, Himiko was unnaturally smitten, and she tends to take her obsessions to quite an unhealthy level. It isn't uncommon for cosplayers to get together and do 'pairing' shots that way, but when one is working by themselves, they often have to get a little more creative.

That's where this lovely shot of aliabides comes in, who displays Himiko's adoration in a more physical manner by including an Izuku body pillow. Every detail of her cosplay and makeup is fantastically true-to-character, and her expression gives off the feeling that she was just interrupted from a moment to herself, which is a nice touch.

6 Nailing The On-Screen Appearance By Takanehina1234

Typically, when cosplayers pull off their own rendition of a character, there's still some semblance of themselves that can be seen within. Fans can both be blown away with how accurate a cosplay seems, and still be able to get some feeling for the cosplayer beneath, as certain facial features tend to give them away.

Then there are cosplayers like takanehina1234, who take truly nailing their character's appearance to the next level. Her makeup work is flawless with not only her Himiko look, but all of her cosplays and the viewer can't help but feel as if the rest of the League of Villains are just off-camera.

5 Caught Waiting Around By Xsydkate

Himiko is a character who's rather notorious for popping out in front of fan-favorite heroes at sub-optimal times. Xsydkate pulls off that feeling of lying in wait for her next potential victim perfectly, and her raised hand combined with that intense toward-the-camera expression make it seem as if she was just caught.

Her pose allows her to show off all parts of her costume, from the uniform all the way down to the syringes that line her neckpiece. Finally, the slightly curved angle of the camera helps to make it feel more interesting than a simple staircase shot.

4 Intense Power Posing By Acky.foxy

Despite her deceptive appearance, Himiko is an incredibly intense and agile person who can easily hold her own in a fight. She lives for the thrill of combat, especially when it involves someone she admires, and acky.foxy certainly did a wonderful job of capturing her energy here.

The option to make her props out of plush is an incredibly unique touch, as well, and one that looks comfortable if a cosplayer has to stay in-costume all day. And while she may not have her trademark syringes, her balled-up-fist indicates she's still very much ready for a brawl.

3 Manically Looking Around By Izzy_clary_cosplay

Himiko is a villain who, at least when she isn't donning her knives and quirk-enabled syringes, mostly looks like a normal schoolgirl. The main thing that sets her apart is the way her hair and face are kept, as her dark undereye circles and unkept hair- though incredibly charming to fans- are physical signs that something's amiss.

Izzy_clary_cosplay does a perfect job at capturing Himiko's mental state through no more than her pose and expression combined.  The choice to take the shot somewhere with lots of graffiti that gives off an abandoned vibe is another wonderful touch.

2 Lurking In The Shadows By Blood.raven

Himiko is a character who, despite her overall cute appearance, also gives the viewer an unsettling and creepy vibe when they see her. This goes double for the characters she interacts with in the show, as even the League of Villains themselves are sketched out and unsure of her at first.

Blood.raven's shot of Himiko does a fantastic job at capturing that trademark unsettling vibe of hers. Her unnatural pose combined with the dark, atmospheric lighting gives off the vibe that this is one of the last things her poor, unsuspecting victims see.

1 Moment Before The Strike By Cosmoon.venus

Atmospheric lighting goes a long way in photoshoots and the nightmarishly eerie green that accents cosmoon.venus' Himiko fits her character perfectly. Her wide-eyed manic expression captures her personality as well, and all of the details of her costume look incredibly accurate.

It's hard for Himiko to hold herself back from lashing out at someone when she's intrigued with them, and that's the clear vibe that she manages to capture here. Finally, it's always a plus when the shot manages to make the viewer feel like they're part of the experience, even if they're Himiko's victim from this perspective.
