Fans of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia will have to wait an additional week for the next chapter, as the manga goes on an unexpected hiatus due to the creator's health.A post from the official My Hero Academia manga Twitter account stated that the previously scheduled chapter had been abruptly delayed. When translated the tweet states, "My Hero Academia, which was scheduled to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 41 (Released on September 13), will be suspended due to poor physical condition of the author." The tweet continued, "The serialization will resume from the next issue, No.42 (sold on September 18th). The next scheduled release from the superhero manga will be its 326th chapter. The first chapter was released in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and its popular anime series soon followed in April 2016. Since then the series has gone on to produce video games, three feature films and a spin-off manga titled My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. The anime is currently in the climax of the Season 5 My Villain Academia arc.

The concern towards the physical and mental health of mangaka has been an ongoing topic in recent months. Recently, the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen author Gege Akutami, as well as Dr Stone writer Riichiro Inagaki, recently went on sudden breaks, although the latter's reasoning was reported as research. The most recent example was that of Black Clover author Yūki Tabata, who went on a health-related hiatus for last week's Weekly Shonen Jump.
