Season 4 of the popular anime series My Hero Academia has yet to debut, but a new trailer for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising offers a little tease of what's to come in the continuation film.

The film has the aspiring superhero students of the franchise's UA Academy face a new villain named Nine, who intends to continue longtime antagonist All for One's sinister legacy. Midoriya and his friends find themselves battling against Nine and his minions.

The film spins out of the popular anime/manga franchise created by Kohei Horikoshi, who provides new character designs and serves as a creative consultant for the upcoming movie. The film will also be directed by Kenji Nagasaki, who directed the entire anime series and its first film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes.

My Hero Academia takes place in a world where the next generation of superheroes is trained in private schools, with each individual having their own respective quirk or superpower. As Izuku Midoriya begins his studies at the UA Academy, he learns that an entire world of villains is similarly rising from the shadows, targeting him and his classmates.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is directed by Kenji Nagasaki. It is scheduled for release in Japanese cinemas on December 20.
