In a world where approximately 80% of the population has some form of superhuman ability, known as Quirks, there are bound to be some powers that are too much for one person to control. In addition to overpowered Quirks, there are Quriks that could be incredibly destructive if applied in a more villainous way.

Many of the destructive Quirks have been put on full display by the villains that wield them, though there are some heroes that could easily destroy the planet if they decided to do so. Some Quriks are outright destructive whereas other Quriks can subtly takedown entire regimes if implemented properly.

10 Hitoshi Shinso's Subtle Yet Terrifying Brainwashing Quirk

Hitoshi Shinso Facing Midoriya In The Sports Festival

While Brainwashing may not seem like a world-ending threat, if implemented properly, the user could make everyone on Earth their puppet, or worse. Shinso's Quirk is activated if anyone simply responds to him when he asks a question. With such an easy activation method, he would be able to control hundreds or perhaps thousands of people before anyone even knew what was happening.

If someone had Shinso's Qurik, they could simply work their way up to high-ranking military officials and instruct them to launch all of their nuclear weapons. This would likely lead to global nuclear fallout resulting in the near-extinction of most land-based animals, including humans.

9 Shigaraki Tomura's Deadly Decay Quirk

Tomura smiling very creepily in My Hero Academia

Tomura's Quirk first manifested when he was a young boy and since he had no control or understanding of the power, he accidentally disintegrated his entire family, setting the stage for All For One to take Tomura under his wing. While Decay hasn't been shown to work on a large scale just yet, most people are able to improve their Quirk's ability via training.

If someone in the real world had Tomura's Quirk and was capable of feats such as instant decay or learning how to implement the decay telepathically, the world would truly be at their mercy. Not only would every living thing be in danger, but infrastructure could crumble overnight resulting in hundreds of thousands of casualties.

8 Katsuki Bakugo's Dangerous Quirk, Explosion

Bakugo showing off his powerful Explosion quirk

If Explosion was a real Quirk, and someone like Bakugo with a little less self-control was the user in the real world, it would only be a matter of time before everything was caught in some kind of explosion. While many concentrated explosions can be useful in terms of mining or construction, a person capable of generating massive explosions on a whim would be terrible news for anyone around them.

Additionally, Bakugo is able to use his gauntlets to store additional sweat allowing his explosions to be even greater. Targeted explosions on governmental, municipal, financial, and educational buildings would not only kill millions but also cripple society from the top down.

7 Endeavor's Hellfire or Dabi's Cremation Quirks

Endeavor and Dabi using their quirks side by side

Half-Cold Half-Hot wasn't included as the two sides tend to balance each other out. Additionally, Todoroki tends to be more mindful of his powers whereas Endeavor and Dabi don't care how much collateral damage they cause. Endeavor has been shown melting city streets and buildings and Dabi has burned down hundreds of acres of forest. They are also both capable of launching flaming projectiles or using their power in the form of a flamethrower.

Considering how serious real-life forest fires are, someone with immense firepower would be far too much for local authorities to combat, especially in flammable areas during the summer months. With enough kindling and a strong enough Quirk, the entire Earth could be aflame in a matter of days.

6 Kai Chisaki's Crazy and Disgusting Overhaul Quirk

Anime My Hero Academia Villain Kai Chisaki sporting four arms while using his Quirk, Overhaul.

Overhaul is a weird Qurik that allows its user to disassemble anything, including living things, and reassemble them in any way the user sees fit. Chisaki appears to have a master-level of control over his Quirk as he can seemingly manipulate matter at will. He has done a few good things with his powers, but he mostly uses them to fight, murder, and torture Eri.

There is one point where Chisaki combines himself with several members of his crew that he sacrificed just to use their bodies, as well as some local material, becoming a massive amalgamated beast. Not only could a person with Overhaul instantly kill anyone they touched, but they could also turn into a truly terrifying monster and destroy humanity, cities at a time.

5 Fumikage Tokoyami's Terrifying Dark Shadow Quirk

Tokoyami's Dark Shadow from My Hero Academia

Dark Shadow appears to be a separate entity from Tokoyami altogether, which makes this Qurik all the more terrifying. When the U.A. students were attacked on their summer break, Dark Shadow's power grew so much in the intense darkness that Tokoyami literally lost control and Dark Shadow went on a violent rampage, unable to discern friend from foe.

Dark Shadow was even too much for some of the more powerful and experienced members of the Vanguard Attack Squad. Considering half of the planet is constantly shrouded in darkness, a creature such as Dark Shadow would be able to perpetually attack the planet as long as it's constantly on the move. A demonic bird spirit that literally feeds on darkness existing in the real world would not end well for the planet.

4 Inasa Yoarashi's Powerful Whirlwind Quirk

Inasa from My Hero Academia using his quirk

While a strong gust of wind may not seem like a serious threat, F-5 tornadoes have destroyed entire towns. Despite being only in high school, Inasa shows complete mastery of his Qurik and is capable of using it on a relatively large scale. Now fast-forward to his adulthood where his power has presumably grown exponentially.

A single person capable of generating tornadoes at wind speeds of more than 300 MPH could not only decimate Tornado Alley but potentially entire cities at a time. If the person was standing in the middle of their tornado, they would presumably be safe from any incoming projectiles as well, thus extending their period of destruction.

3 Yo Shindo's Earthquake Causing Quirk Called Vibrate

Yo Shindo grinning downwards

While vibration seems like an innocuous ability, consider the vibrations generated from massive 9.0 earthquakes that result in untold destruction. Now imagine someone was capable of generating a 9.0 earthquake on a whim if they so chose. If someone could create massive earthquakes by simply vibrating the ground, the planet would be in serious trouble.

Between natural earthquakes and man-made earthquakes resulting from fracking and deep-sea drilling, the Earth already experiences nearly 60 earthquakes per day, both big and small. If that number doubled, and every single earthquake clocked in at 7.0 or greater, the Earth would experience a greater shift than that of Pangea at a much quicker rate, swallowing cities, countries, even oceans whole.

2 Eri's Undeveloped Quirk, Rewind

Anime My Hero Academia Eri Quirk Activation

If this Qurik was real and was wielded by a young girl that had no real control over it, it could lead to global catastrophe. Eri accidentally rewound her parents out of existence. Imagine that type of power on a much larger scale. Someone that would have control over this type of power would be frightening, but someone that had little to no control over this power would be deadly.

If a person in the real world had the emotionally charged Rewind Quirk, and that person had a bad day, they could accidentally rewind people out of existence or rewind the planet back to the Stone Age. Or worse, the planet could revert back to its liquid magma state before it cooled to form the hard crust of today, resulting in complete and utter annihilation.

1 Thirteen's Deadly Quirk Known as Black Hole

Thirteen and Kurogiri

Considering black holes are a real thing in the universe and are powerful enough to gobble up an entire planet or star in a matter of moments, the prospect of one appearing on the surface of the Earth is beyond alarming. Though the prospect of global spaghettification doesn't seem to concern scientists as the teams at CERN attempt to create black holes almost every day.

However, a person capable of generating the same destructive forces as a black hole would truly be devastating. Even a small-sized black hole would spell doom for the planet. Everything in the immediate vicinity would be sucked into the black hole, infinitely stretched into oblivion and never to be seen again, followed by the rest of the planet and everything on it as the black hole grows.
