Shoto Todoroki is one of the more powerful students in Class 1-A in My Hero Academia. The son of current number one hero Endeavor, Todoroki has a powerful quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot. His quirk allows him to utilize both ice and fire in defensive and offensive capabilities. His growth in the series has only seen him become more powerful.
While not as powerful as primary series protagonist Izuku Midoriya, known by his hero name Deku, Todoroki is still incredibly powerful. He can give many heroes and villains a run for their money. He would make a worthy challenge for heroes and villains in the DC Comics universe as well.
10 Would Defeat Him: Deadshot
One weakness Todoroki has is against stealth. Todoroki is incredibly strong in a face to face battle, but what if the enemy never shows their face? That would be Deadshot's advantage against Todoroki. He could strike from afar before Todoroki realized he was in a fight.
While Todoroki is fast and agile, he isn't fast enough to avoid a bullet he never saw coming. Deadshot could easily defeat Todoroki by sniping him from afar. However, if Todoroki noticed Deadshot, he could easily defend against the Suicide Squad member's firearms.
9 Could Defeat: Bane
Bane is an iconic Batman villain who brought the fight to the Dark Knight on multiple occasions. His keen battle intellect combined with his overwhelming physical ability makes him an incredibly dangerous villain, however Shoto Todoroki has the abilities necessary to defeat this deadly villain.
Bane's superhuman physical ability is wasted against Todoroki. Whether he froze him or burned him, Bane could not resist the elemental assault. Bane would have a plan to counteract the assault but ultimately, he couldn't beat the element-wielding hero.
8 Would Defeat Him: Booster Gold
Booster Gold is a hero with all the tools to defeat Shoto Todoroki. While Todoroki has powerful offense and defense with his ice and fire quirk, Booster Gold can slip through. He is incredibly mobile with his ability to fly and become intangible. Furthermore, he can resist Todoroki's attacks.
When Todoroki goes into defensive mode, Booster Gold can go intangible to slip through the defense. He can then defeat Todoroki with his superhuman abilities. If Todoroki managed to get one up on him, Booster Gold has time-traveling abilities as well. At the end of the day, Booster Gold would stand tall as the victor over Todoroki.
7 Could Defeat: Beast Boy
Beast Boy has another ability that is wasted against Todoroki. His ability to shift into various animals makes him a dangerous opponent for many, but none of his animal forms can stand up to Todoroki's elemental offense. Whether he uses fire or ice, it would be too much for Beast Boy to withstand in any form.
Beast Boy would have greater mobility in some beast forms but even that would not give him the advantage against Todoroki. With his own mobility and combat prowess, he could outmaneuver Beast Boy before even using his elemental quirk. Beast Boy would end up burned or frozen if they fought.
6 Would Defeat Him: Reverse-Flash
Shoto Todoroki's mastery of ice powers would make him a challenge for any speedster, as cold is a natural enemy for them. However, Reverse-Flash has a mastery over the speed force that would allow him to overcome that hindrance.
With his speed force powers and bloodlust, Reverse-Flash would quickly kill Shoto Todoroki. He wouldn't let the fight last long and he wouldn't take the chance of leaving the hero alive. Todoroki would die before he ever saw it coming if he fought Reverse-Flash.
5 Could Defeat: Cyborg
Cyborg's cybernetic enhancements and weaponry make him dangerous for many opponents. However, Shoto Todoroki would overcome these weapons to defeat Cyborg. While Cyborg would try to utilize his many weapons, Todoroki's defense would allow him to resist these assaults effortlessly.
Cyborg could have enhancements that allow him to resist the elements but they wouldn't be able to hold up to Todoroki's overwhelming power. While Cyborg would try to resist, Todoroki would unleash a devastating elemental assault that would end the cybernetic hero's fight.
4 Would Defeat Him: Doomsday
Shoto Todoroki would have no chance of defeating Doomsday. The bloodthirsty, monstrous villain is simply too powerful. Todoroki's incredible quirk would do nothing against Doomsday. He would simply ignore the flames and ice.
If Shoto Todoroki battled Doomsday, the only outcomes are a retreat or the death of the hero. The monster that killed Superman would inevitably be way more than Todoroki has ever even attempted to deal with. Todoroki would be better off leaving Doomsday for Superman.
3 Could Defeat: Hawkman
Hawkman would make an interesting opponent for Todoroki, or anyone for that matter, because he reincarnates when he dies. While Hawkman would pose little to no threat to Todoroki in battle, Todoroki would have to repeatedly defeat him.
Hawkman would be more of a nuisance for the hot and cold hero than anything. Todoroki could easily destroy Hawkman with his quirk. However, Hawkman can use his ability to be reincarnated to cheat death. Todoroki would have to capture Hawkman to avoid the nuisance that would ensue from killing him. Nonetheless, Todoroki would likely win every battle between the two.
2 Would Defeat Him: Firestorm
Firestorm is an elemental hero like Todoroki. It may seem like Todoroki has the advantage in the form of a second element he can use. However, Firestorm has many more powers that Todoroki doesn't have. Firestorm can absorb and release energy, control molecules, and regenerate, along with much more.
Todoroki would give Firestorm a good fight, but Firestorm's many powers would ensure he was the victor. Firestorm is one hero that uses elements that Todoroki could not defeat. While he would have a stellar defense, Firestorm would eventually overwhelm him with his vast power.
1 Could Defeat: Aquaman
While Aquaman is a great hero and is part of the most iconic hero team in DC Comics' long history, the Justice League, he would stand no chance against Todoroki. Aquaman and his fish friends would not do well against his fire or ice. Todoroki could win this battle with little to no effort.
Aquaman's powers are simply incompatible with Shoto Todoroki's, leaving him at a huge disadvantage. The King of Atlantis would want no part of a battle against the son of Endeavor.
