As Camie neared the end of her second-year studies, she took the Provisional Licensing Exam to officially become a licensed superhero when a deadly secret about her true identity was quietly revealed.

WHO IS MY HERO ACADEMIA'S REAL CAMIE?

Later in the series, it's revealed that Camie was attacked and drugged by Himiko Toga, a member of the League of Villains some time before taking the Provisional Hero License Exam. Toga then extracted some of Camie's blood and used her Quirk, Transform, to take on Camie's appearance and voice by ingesting the blood. With that disguise, Toga was able to infiltrate Shiketsu High unnoticed.

After this surprising revelation was revealed, it became evident that Toga was still in contact with the League of Villains, who had scattered after a previous defeat. Later, Toga targets Izuku Midoriya with the intention of continuing her deception by obtaining his blood to take his form for an unrevealed plot. This scheme proves successful, and Toga returning to the League of Villains' new secret headquarters with some of Izuku's blood.

THE FUTURE OF CAMIE AND TOGA IN MY HERO ACADEMIA

While the anime series has not yet progressed far beyond this reveal, the manga series is considerably further ahead in the story. Assuming that the show continues to prove faithful to the manga source material, fans can expect the upcoming fourth season to include Toga and the League of Villains enacting their master plan against the aspiring superheroes.

Additionally, the whereabouts of the real Camie Utsushima stand to be revealed, since she's been held captive by Toga for the villain to maintain her cover. Once Camie is formally introduced to the series, the second-year student at Shiketsu High will unveil her true personality and abilities, including her character-specific Quirk, Glamour, which allows her to exhale a hallucinatory vapor that confuses her opponents.

However, after enduring such a traumatic episode and all her classmates having to go through the prolonged deception, Camie will have to win back her fellow students' trust and reassure them that she has truly returned, which should shape the character's story arc as the anime series returns for its fourth season.

Season 4 of My Hero Academia will premiere this October.
