The POWERS of Best Jeanist
Best Jeanist's Quirk is known as Fiber Master, which gives Best Jeanist the power to control and manipulate all clothing fibers. This ability allows Best Jeanist to essentially puppeteer anyone wearing clothes by pulling at their fibers and doing whatever he wishes with them Of course, as is hinted at in his name, his power works best on denim.
On top of binding and controlling opponents, Best Jeanist can also stealthily use fibers for offense or defense, since he can use fibers that are so small, they're nearly invisible. He can can even manipulate the strength and speed of fibers, making him an all-around powerful and versatile hero.
The PERSONALITY of Best Jeanist
Both because of his weird costume (which we'll get to in a bit) and because he calls himself "Best Jeanist," there's no denying that Tsunagu Hakamata is one eccentric dude; "Jeanist" isn't even a real word, but that didn't stop Hakamata from proclaiming himself to be the best one in the world. This silly name definitely matches the character's personality, since he has been depicted as flamboyant, elegant and a stickler for prim and proper appearance.

Best Jeanist is also prone to dramatic, "motivational" speeches that rely heavily on metaphors surrounding pants, jeans and denim — clearly the guy has a style and he sticks to it like pants to legs. Underneath his flamboyant nature, however, Best Jeanist is a very dedicated, selfless and all-around heroic person, fighting with all his might and risking his life to protect others, as seen when he nearly died at the hands of All For One.
The COSTUME of Best Jeanist
One of the most interesting aspects of Best Jeanist is, without a doubt, his strange hero costume. The suit is comprised almost entirely out of denim, the silliest part about the whole getup being that his "mask" mimics the zipper of a pair of jeans, making his face look like a "pelvic region."
However, beyond communicating how eccentric the character is, this bizarre costume actually serves an in-story purpose. After all, Best Jeanist's power works best when using the fibers of denim clothes. That's exactly why he walks around in a superheroic "Canadian tuxedo" all the time — which must be the worst in Japan's summer heat — since it gives his Quirk material to work with at all times.
The ROLE of Best Jeanist in My hero Academia
Best Jeanist is more than his quirky nature; beneath his elegant and flamboyant ways lies the heart of a hero, one who nearly gave his life to protect others in the battle against All For One. This was one of the character's main roles in the plot, contributing significantly to the raid on the League of Villains' hideout.
Though it was less significant to the overall plot, Best Jeanist played a prior role as Bakugo's Hero mentor, the rowdy student acting as an intern for his hero agency. During this internship, Jeanist attempted to rein-in Bakugo's aggressive personality by making him a prim and proper jean-wearing gentleman, but his efforts were in vain.
