There's no denying the fact that Katsuki Bakugo is not a particularly nice and easy-going character in My Hero Academia. He is one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, but this power fuels his ambition to become the strongest hero of all time. As a result, he has a tendency to act rudely and harshly to most people he encounters.

Sometimes, however, there are signs amidst all the aggression that he either likes, respects, or gets along with some of his classmates. Even if he doesn't openly express these feelings, there's a good chance he at least appreciates some aspects of his peers' personalities.

Mina Ashido is one of the most likable of the U.A. Class 1-A students who seemingly gets  along well with everyone, including the perverse Mineta and the always-angry Bakugo.

Ashido was chosen to be a part of Bakugo's team during the Cavalry part of the Sports Festival, showing that, at the very least, he knew what skills she could and would bring to the table. With his strong desire to win, Bakugo knew he had to pick a teammate he could trust, and that was Ashido.

One Class 1-A student who hasn't been shown much is Rikido Sato, also known as Sugarman. Sato has, however, shown off his Quirk Sugar Rush with his increased strength and power when he consumes sugar.

During the Joint Training arc with Class 1-A against Class 1-B, Sato, Bakugo, Sero, and Jiro form one team, and the ensuing bout sees Bakugo's newly found appreciation and acceptance of using teamwork to reach his lofty goals. This includes Sato saving Bakugo, allowing him to go on the offensive and secure an overwhelming victory for his team.

Ochaco Uraraka scared looking at Bakugo

Bakugo uses her last name at the end of their match, which is Bakugo's own way of showing respect, as he will usually avoid actual names and opt for rude nicknames instead. Uraraka surprised him with her strength and tenacity, but she still irritates him.

7 Jiro Found A Way To Make Bakugo A Team Player

Anime My Hero Academia Kyoka Jiro Singing Concert

Kyoka Jiro and Bakugo strike up an unlikely friendship of sorts in the span of two arcs, in seasons 4 & 5. Jiro has Bakugo join the class' band on the drums for the festival, and he actually listens to her and cooperates in the rehearsals and performance.

Jiro is also on Bakugo's team in the Joint Training arc against a team from Class 1-B, with them saving one another and executing perfect teamwork to achieve a perfect 4-0 victory.

6 Sero Helped Bakugo Win On More Than One Occasion

Hanta Sero has found his way into Bakugo's teams on a number of occasions, both in the Sports Festival Cavalry Contest and the Joint Training arc, with them showcasing great teamwork in both cases.

In Heroes Rising, when Sero is attacked and knocked out by the villain, Nine, Bakugo shouts out his name in concern, which is not a very Bakugo-like thing to do. This suggests that Sero may well be one of the few students Bakugo considers to be a friend, in his own way.

Bakugo will always berate Todoroki, but the fact of the matter is that when they both failed the Provisional Hero License Exam, they were forced to spend a lot of time together in extra classes. This eventually led to them both passing the exam on the second attempt. It would be plenty enough to consider them friends if not for Bakugo's apparent anger and denial.

4 Bakugo Respects & Idolizes All Might Above Everyone Else

While Izuku Midoriya is ultimately the one who All Might chooses to mentor, All Might also feels a strong connection to and responsibility for Bakugo. All Might is the hero who Bakugo looks up to the most, and it's a rare sight to see the look of hope and awe in Bakugo's eyes when he witnesses All Might's heroic antics.

When All Might and Deku let Bakugo in on their secret, they all become closer, even if Bakugo didn't want to admit it.

3 Deku Irritates Bakugo But Also Motivates Him To Be Better

Anime My Hero Academia Shoto Bakugo Deku Hero Agency Attack

Bakugo bullied and berated Izuku Midoriya consistently when they were younger, and that doesn't necessarily change too much when they both enter U.A. High School. However, once he comes to grips with Deku's newfound Quirk and strength, Bakugo is also let in on Deku and All Might's secret, which helps improve his attitude toward Deku somewhat.

In Heroes Rising, the two end up working well together in the face of a great threat in the form of Nine, and their in-sync teamwork even results in Deku lending One For All to Bakugo in order to get the job done.

2 Kaminari Likes Bakugo Despite Being Constantly Insulted

Bakugo, Kaminari, and Kirishima, My Hero Academia

Kaminari is part of the trio that will sometimes go off and do their own thing, usually at the whim of Bakugo, along with Kirishima.

While Kaminari has to endure a lot of insults from Bakugo, it is clear that they share a mutual level of trust. This is shown when the trio faces Seiji Shishikura during the Provisional Hero License Exam arc. Bakugo hands Kaminari one of his grenades before being temporarily turned into a meatball, trusting Kaminari to turn the tide of the fight and ultimately allowing them to emerge victorious.

They are both separated from the rest of the group during the League of Villains' assault at the USJ, and together, they manage to fend off all the villains who attack them.

They continue to team up on multiple occasions, and it's clear that Bakugo values him as a friend. Kirishima leads the rescue team when Bakugo gets captured and is ultimately the one who reaches out and saves him.
