Ever since the inception of My Hero Academia, its most gripping aspect by far has to be its creatively colorful cast of characters. While the setting that the series takes place in is phenomenal the plot is incredibly captivating and good at hooking viewers in, it's the cast that sticks in viewers' minds the most. This is due not only to their quirky, memorable designs but the fleshed-out and often painfully relatable histories and personalities that they display.

One such character is Tsuyu Asui, who has one of the most unique hero appearances as her features resemble a frog, going hand-in-hand with her quirk. She's bright, mature, and dependable, and all of her traits come together to form a character than fan artists simply can't get enough of.

10 Double Ribbit

Tsuyu's frog charm is incredibly adorable and combining that with the creative idea to do a crossover of her with the main character from Sgt. Frog makes this piece by papricots even better. The lineart is thick, clean, and does a great job of highlighting the exceptional coloring style of the piece overall. Finally, Tsuyu's bright and determined personality is on full display, and Keroro looks like he has no problem matching her near-infectious energy.

9 Trademark Tic

While there are a few tics that Tsuyu clearly possesses because of her froglike nature, there are others that are simply just parts of her personality that are also pretty cute. One such tic is her tendency to raise her finger to her mouth while speaking or occasionally while thinking, and it was captured wonderfully in this piece by june.buns. Her stance resembles how a frog would typically sit, which makes perfect sense given her quirk, and her expression manages to convey her bubbly and bright personality well.

8 Wardrobe Sketches

Most of the time fans only get to see students in either their uniforms or their hero costumes, so it's great to see a piece that also includes more casual, frog-inspired fashion as well. Milissa.art nailed every part of all three of their Tsuyu sketches, as the poses do a great job of displaying her personality while the coloring is quite cute. Both versions of her uniform are done well, but her winter outfit shines as being both adorable and fitting for her.

7 Frogs In The Rain

Tsuyu is one of the more popular choices for artists who want to try their hand at coming up with their own versions of casual attire for her, as there's many creative ways to twist the frog theme. In this example, okuyasu_is_bae tries their hand at a rainy day ensemble for her, and it came out absolutely wonderful.

There are small hints of frog motifs thrown in anywhere the artist could manage, like the tips of the umbrella and even her shoes, and none of it feels out of place. The choice to have her crouching down and sharing a smile with an adorable little frog is a great touch, too.

6 Stern Stare

Even characters that are as laid-back as Tsuyu have moments where they have to act more strict. As she does possess a more mature and responsible side, combined with having no issue speaking her mind, Tsuyu often becomes the one out of the students that has to keep everyone else from doing something too rash. In _lukedraws_'s take on her, Tsuyu looks as if she's in the middle of firmly stopping Deku and the others from acting out of line. The hand-drawn marker-colored look works out well for this piece and gives it a sense of unique charm.

5 Casually Pondering

Tsuyu is an incredibly level-headed individual who's able to think calmly and rationally about things, which comes across immediately in jixelkitty's piece. With her gaze slightly downward combined with her typical finger tic, it begs the question of what must be on her mind, and it's always nice when a piece gives the viewer something to think about. The casual green sweater is adorable, too, and the little hearts help prevent it from being too plain or blending in with the rest of the green tones.

4 Adorable Introduction

With her frog-like features, such as her larger eyes, hands, and tongue, there's a lot about Tsuyu that's almost too cute already. Add shugaiixx's utterly adorable art style to the mix and it's nearly too cute to handle! They said this piece is their very first piece of fanart, and for such a young self-taught artist, it's incredibly impressive. The coloring and slight shading are great, and the fuzzy effect gives the entire piece a unique retro vibe.

3 Frog Love

It isn't too often in the series that viewers get to see a blushing Tsuyu, so seeing zyanln recreate exactly that is quite the treat. Having the lineart match the piece's colors instead of simply being black really makes this portrait stand out, and the shading makes her look as if she's covered by the foliage of towering trees.

The heart that she's making with her hands is downright heart-melting, and one can only wonder who or what made her so flustered to begin with.

2 Matching Wallet

Since Tsuyu so wholeheartedly embraces the frog aesthetic, the thought of her carrying around a little frog wallet is something that sounds like it'd already be canon. Since it tragically isn't, bearirii took it upon themselves to make such a cute idea a reality, and it worked out wonderfully. The choice to make her skirt a brighter shade of green than her typical uniform is a nice creative change that suits her just as well, if not better, and her expression while holding the wallet shows just how happy it makes her.

1 Frog In The Headlights

With a lot of Tsuyu's physical traits resembling that of a frog more than a human's, she has a lot of freedom for dynamic poses that would be difficult to pull off otherwise. In this piece by levidu99, that flexibility is on full display with her posture, and her ultra-long froglike tongue is especially eye-catching. All of the details in both the linework and coloring look great, and Tsuyu's shocked-seeming expression raises questions and provokes thoughts from the viewer, which is a nice touch. She could be wide-eyed and pointing at a fellow classmate in trouble just as easily as she could be staring down a villain.
