Izuku Midoriya is the protagonist of My Hero Academia. He wields the power of the One For All Quirk that was passed on to him by All Might, the Number One Hero. With the aim of becoming the greatest Hero ever, Izuku stepped into U.A where several other students, such as Bakugo, are aiming for the same goal as him.

To date, Bakugo remains to be the biggest rival of Izuku and he aims to surpass everyone with his own power. Since the beginning of the story, both Izuku and Bakugo have come a long way.

10 Midoriya: Smarter

Ever since he was a kid, Izuku has had a great interest in keeping tabs on all the Heroes and how they save those in need. Consequently, he is able to read situations much better than anyone else from his age group.

It can be said that Izuku is the smartest kid in his group and thanks to his keen eye, he's able to figure things out quite quickly in combat.

9 Bakugo: Better Quirk Control

Unlike Midoriya, Bakugo has had his Quirk ever since he was a kid. For him, controlling its powers is much easier than it is for Midoriya simply because he has accumulated much more experience than his classmate.

He's an excellent user of the Explosion Quirk and he manages to use it in ways with which he can defeat even the strongest of Villains.

8 Midoriya: One For All 45%

Midoriya wields the power of the One For All Quirk right now and is the 9th user of this power. Although his body is unable to handle the full power of this Quirk, he has slowly been getting stronger, and right now, he is able to use 30% of the Quirk without any drawbacks.

In short instances, Midoriya is able to bring out 45% of One For All's power, which makes him extremely dangerous in combat.

7 Bakugo: Destructive

Bakugo has access to the Explosion Quirk which allows him to release nitroglycerin from his sweat glands and ignite it to cause massive explosions.

In terms of destructive power, Bakugo's Quirk makes him far more dangerous than anyone else in his class, which includes Izuku Midoriya as well.

6 Midoriya: Other Quirks

Thanks to the power of One For All, Midoriya has access to many other Quirks as well. For now, he's able to use One For All and Blackwhip, which he gained access to very recently.

In time, he'll gain access to Nana Shimura's Float Quirk and then four more Quirks that are currently unknown. Without a doubt, Midoriya is on the path to becoming the strongest.

5 Bakugo: Leader

When it comes to taking command of the situation, Bakugo is, undoubtedly, the better of the two. He's used to challenging the threat head-on, taking the central role for himself in the process.

After the Joint Training arc, Bakugo has become better than ever before and has gained the confidence of his teammates as well. They follow him and believe in him, which is what makes him quite dangerous.

4 Midoriya: Successor Of All Might

Midoriya is the successor of All Might and he was chosen by the Number One because he saw the potential in him to become the best.

It goes without saying that Midoriya has what it takes to be the greatest and the faith that All Might showed him in him is what pushes him beyond all his limits at times, making him stronger than anyone momentarily. This has been seen several times in the series, such as when he went up against Muscular and won.

3 Bakugo: Can Rely On Others

Bakugo is someone who wants to be able to do everything by himself and take all credit. While that works sometimes, at others, he needs to rely on those around him for help and after the Joint Training Exam arc, he's learned how to do that much better than before. Knowing when to ask for help and when to go in alone is a great quality.

2 Midoriya: Better Hero Student

When it comes to being a Hero, Midoriya certainly does a much better job than Bakugo. He prioritizes saving those in need over winning and at the same time, is very kind to those who are in dire situations.

Bakugo, on the other hand, doesn't really know when to put on a smile to give hope to those in need. All he cares about is beating the villains, which although not wrong, does make him a worse Hero student.

1 Bakugo: Unwavering Determination

Bakugo is angry in My Hero Academia.

Bakugo is one of the very few people in the series who know about the All Might and Midoriya's secret. Despite knowing that Midoriya is the successor, Bakugo hasn't stopped working towards his goal of becoming the best.

In fact, he uses Midoriya's growth as a means to push himself even further and become better than before in the process. In terms of willpower, Bakugo definitely wins out currently.
