My Dress-Up Darling was the top premiere anime of the Winter 2022 season. Now that it's over, fans are looking to a bright future for the anime, further confirmed by the final moments of the season.
This pretty faithful anime adaptation has remained true to the manga, and as the source material continues on, there's no doubt that a Season 2 is already on the horizon. Before an official announcement is made, here are some burning questions fans of the show want answered in the next season.
Will Gojo Come to Terms With his Feelings for Marin?
Generally, throughout the season, Marin was quick to figure out that she had feelings for Gojo. The post-credit scenes even include her confessing her feelings to a sleeping Gojo. However, Gojo hasn't yet fully realized his feelings for Marin, either internally or outwardly. It's quite obvious that he has feelings for her, but his numerous internal monologues are mostly him lamenting about the way he's acting around her and don't go into why this is the case. Fans are hoping that Gojo will learn to identify his feelings and therefore be able to tell Marin how he feels. Will the events of the Love Hotel episode ever be addressed?
The penultimate episode was simply too steamy to bounce back from, but it seems like Gojo and Marin did just that, to the disappointment of many viewers. For the blossoming couple, it was the closest physical interaction they have engaged in thus far, yet by the next episode, it was seemingly swept under the rug as just another happenstance. Will fans see how that scene impacts their relationship at all?
Will Juju Play a More Prominent Role?
After the events of the successful group cosplay, Juju and her sister Shinju were nowhere to be found in the last two episodes of the season. Admittedly, many fans were worried that they might intrude on the progress that Gojo and Marin were making as a couple, so it may have been the right choice to focus only on Gojo and Marin to close out the season. What will their roles look like in the next season? Juju voiced her love of Gojo's costumes, so there is no doubt that she may ask for another cosplay. Will we see more of the cosplaying sisters in Season 2?
Will Gojo and Marin Confess Their Love?
Ah, yes, the will they or won't they trope of romantic comedies -- the age-old question. Marin has been sure of her feelings since they went to the cosplay event together, stating that she "wuvs" him. However, Gojo is slower to realize his own feelings for her despite the obviousness of it all. Still, Marin has been hiding her feelings from Gojo and only states her love for him in secret or when he cannot hear, just as she did in the final episode of the season. Who will confess first, and will this happen in Season 2?
Will Gojo Leave His Isolated Life for Good and Make More Friends?
Gojo's coming-of-age transition from doll-making shut-in to making friends is admirable to witness. Still, Gojo only has three friends, and they are all women. Although this is standard for a harem anime, fans agree that it would be great to remain within the style of romantic comedy and keep the romance to Gojo and Marin. Gojo definitely needs guy friends his own age, but will he be able to find friends that accept his love of hina dolls?
What Will Marin Cosplay Next?
The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to this question. As Marin has said and Gojo has realized, she has many favorites that she plans to cosplay. To the joy of both Marin and cosplayers who cosplay as Marin herself, each cosplay will be a new adventure that fans will get to witness Gojo and Marin take on.
