The One Piece universe has many fascinating character designs that exaggerate the human form. From egg-shaped overseers to humans in boxes, the series almost never limits itself based on what should be realistically plausible.

Considering how much of the anime revolves around fighting, it comes as little surprise that many characters are exceptionally muscular — some even seem like pure muscle. Their aesthetic reminds audiences of their unparalleled brute strength every moment they spend on screen and suggests that they may not be as easy to defeat as an ordinary opponent.

10 Miss Monday Was The Series' Most Muscular Woman

Zoro vs Miss Monday in One Piece.

Since One Piece typically depicted women as attractive and petite, Miss Monday was an unconventional surprise. Her huge arms and broad shoulders illustrated raw physical prowess as a Baroque Works agent and rendered her the most muscular woman in the series.

All the same, Monday proved no match for Roronoa Zoro during the battle for Whisky Peak. As imposing as she may have been, her lack of weapon training or armament Haki made her a comparatively trivial threat to the swordsman.

9 Oars Was A Mountain Of Menacing Muscle

A close-up of Oars in One Piece.

Oars was a giant salvaged by Gecko Moria and stitched together by Doctor Hogback. As the largest threat the Straw Hats faced at the time, not even their combined strength was sufficient for defeating him.

Oars' raw size helped to enunciate his muscle and made his attacks more deadly. However, his arms weren't the most toned, and his protruding gut suggested a lack of endurance that would have been an issue if he weren't undead. Regardless, Oars' ability to fight until his muscles fell off gave him a clear and unique advantage.

8 Franky Was The Most Muscular Straw Hat

Although Zoro was the strongest Straw Hat Pirate, Franky was significantly larger and more muscular. His shoulders alone rendered him three times the size of a typical crew member, and his forearms were equally disproportionate.

Franky's incredible stature was on account of the many cybernetic enhancements he made in his body. He might not have been as compact as Zoro, but he appeared physically stronger in almost every conceivable way. Franky's only downside was that his legs were fairly ordinary, making them look out of place in comparison to the rest of his body.

7 Pica Was Imposing No Matter What Form He Took

Zoro Vs Pica One Piece

Even outside his stone form, Pica was a muscular menace. His shoulders were unnaturally broad and provided more definition to his already formidable arms. Although still disproportionate, his legs were also reasonably toned for a mostly balanced physique.

Pica's ability to coat himself in armament Haki augmented his natural strength past its physical limitations. Despite the potential power behind such a technique, he preferred transforming into a stony goliath with few exploitable weaknesses. It was safer for Pica, increased his strength even further, and left fewer opportunities to be attacked.

6 Whitebeard Was Statuesque & Titanic

Whitebeard's fantastic stature immediately commanded respect from those around him. Age did little to reduce his impressive form, as seen through his ability to wage the battle for Marineford at 72 years old. His arms were broad and put crew members half a century younger than him to shame.

In addition to being several times taller than an ordinary person, Whitebeard's body was outstandingly durable. It survived hundreds of bullet wounds, being stabbed, and even having magma pumped into his open chest wound. Whitebeard also wielded the Tremor-Tremor fruit more efficiently than Blackbeard on account of his phenomenal strength.

5 Vergo's Haki Accentuated His Body

Vergo's build might have seemed fairly modest when wearing his uniform, but removing it revealed his true strength. Every inch of his body was ridiculously muscular, and he was perfectly proportionate.

Vergo's body wasn't just for show. When using Haki, he could attack with such force that it threatened to break Sanji's leg. In the end, no one could match Vergo's raw might. It took Law catching him off guard to bring about his defeat at the end of the Punk Hazard arc.

4 Jack Was The Beast Pirates' Powerhouse

Jack arrives at Wano in One Piece.

Despite Queen's claims to the contrary, Jack was the most muscular of Kaido's servants. As a fish-man, he was naturally gifted with ten times the strength of an ordinary person. Jack was also much taller than his subordinates, allowing him to maintain a menacing presence in human form.

During the battle for Zou, Jack led the effort against the defending Minks for days and nights on end. As a result, his endurance was extraordinarily impressive even by One Piece's standards. Jack may not have had the special abilities of other Lead Performers, yet few matched his athleticism.

3 Jesus Burgess Was Blackbeard's Enforcer

One Piece: Jesus Burgess' Super Redundant Devil Fruit

Ever since Mock Town, Jesus' role on Blackbeard's crew was clear. He provided his comrades with physical support and protection, putting his tremendous muscles to good use. Jesus' shoulders and arms were fantastic, perfectly complimenting his barrel chest.

During Doflamingo's coliseum match, he nearly claimed the Flame-Flame fruit by forcing his way through the competition. Now that Jesus received an ability that directly augments his strength, he has enough raw force to lift or shatter mountains. It entails that Jesus has become stronger than his already buff frame suggests.

2 Hody Jones Was Unrivaled In Steroid Form

Hody Jones glaring evilly in One Piece.

As a fish-man, Hody was already naturally athletic and ten times stronger than a typical human. His steroid form accentuated his muscles beyond what should be possible. It made every inch of his body the image of primordial force and gave him enough strength to rip through Luffy's Haki-based defenses.

Hody's muscles were useful beyond simply striking down foes. It also allowed him to jettison effortlessly across the water, repeatedly taking Luffy off guard and turning the environment to his advantage. However, Hody's steroid usage came at a price after the battle concluded, and only a withered husk remained of his once unrivaled physique.

1 Kaido Was The Rightful King Of Beasts

Kaido with scars on his torso in One Piece.

Kaido was the embodiment of everything it meant to be muscular. In addition to being toned and well-proportioned, the villain was a giant that towered over enemies. Kaido's physical qualities were often praised.

Kaido's skin and muscles were capable of enduring almost any attack, and he wielded the strength to defeat Luffy in a single hit. The monster took great pride in his stature and used it to oppress those around him. Kaido's idyllic muscular frame made it regrettable that more oni didn't appear to compare him to.
