In celebration of the film's 40th anniversary, The Muppet Movie coming back to theaters. Fathom Events will screen the movie all across the United States later this summer.

When it first premiered in 1976, The Muppets was a sketch-variety series starring the titular Jim Henson characters in a number of comedic situations. The first film was debuted in 1979 and centered on the titular Muppets during the height of their popularity. The first film followed Kermit the Frog as he traveled to Los Angeles with dreams of stardom. Along the way, he recruited the rest of the Muppets to come with him and try to reach fame and fortune.

The Muppets have released seven films since the first movie, leading the puppet-fronted franchise to become one of the most popular family franchises. The re-release of the film comes just before the rumored new Muppets series coming to Disney+ later this year.

The film will hit theaters all across America later this summer on Thursday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 30. Tickets are already available online.
