MultiVersus is the latest 2D fighter to hit consoles and is a free-to-play experience unlike any other. Similar to how Super Smash Bros. has a fun collection of some of Nintendo's best characters, MultiVersus has the entire Warner Bros. catalog of characters from which to enlist new fighters. From properties like DC to Game of Thrones, there's a world of possibility for the title and how many characters it could include over time.

While many characters that would be a perfect fit lie in the realm of the unexpected, there's one character straight from the DC Universe that could be a great addition. Rather than a simple hero or villain, he's more of a super-tough anti-villain known as Lobo. From his demeanor and story to his abilities, Lobo may be the perfect powerhouse to include in MultiVersus. If that isn't enough, he's got a resume that can't be beaten as well.

In the comics, Lobo is a galactic bounty hunter who's incredibly strong and even more ill-tempered. He's had run-ins with the Justice League, Superman, and many more entities in the DC Universe, but he always delivers on his bounties. The Main Man has also shown exceptional skill in combat in the video game arena as well. In fact, one of his best-known appearances is as a DLC fighter in Injustice: Gods Among Us, where his abilities may serve as a perfect template for his usage in MultiVersus.

Injustice focused heavily on the endless utilities at Lobo's disposal during combat. While his strength is paramount, he also relies on his hook chain, shotgun, and space bike to get the job done. As such, Injustice inadvertently gave Lobo a powerful and addictive kit that could be translated well into MultiVersus. He also has enough emotes during his ultimate moves and taunts that it gives fans a great look at his personality and who he is when he isn't bounty hunting. While Lobo is only a DLC character for the game, his allure struck gamers fast, and he quickly became a fan favorite among players.

To properly adapt the character for MultiVersus, Lobo would have to pull some inspiration from Super Smash Bros. For example, his hook chain could provide a great ranged and grapple moveset to be used in combat, like Simon and Richter. When thrown off the stage, he could use that hook to latch onto a ledge and pull himself back up. His shotgun could offer considerable range and even have different intensities that project at random. His emotes could even give off damage as he's been known to light his cigar with a massive flamethrower. Lobo's super move could be the real clincher as it could allow him to call on his bike, like Wario, and use it to run over enemies. With his massive strength, Lobo would make a powerful tank on the battlefield and a great counter to Superman and Shaggy.

Lobo may be one of the more unlikely DC characters to include in MultiVersus. However, it's his unpredictability that would make him important to the game, as no one would anticipate his eclectic fighting style. Also, his tough-as-nails personality would be a great foil for many of the upbeat heroes found in the game and help set a precedent that not all fighters have to be boy scouts on the battlefield. With his abilities, it would be easy for the character to translate to 2D fighting, as it's an area of gaming in which he's had experience.
