Mulder and Scully Return in First 'X-Files' Set Photo

After a smattering of behind-the-scenes photos from the cast and producers, fans of "The X-Files" were finally treated this morning to the first official look at stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson on the set of the Fox revival.

The photo, revealed by the series Twitter account, is shot over the shoulder of series creator Chris Carter as he watches the two actors on a monitor.

The six-episode event sees Duchovny and Anderson reprising their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for the first time since the 2008 film "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." They're joined by series veteran Mitch Pileggi and newcomer Joel McHale, as well as writers/producers Glen Morgan and James Wong.

"The X-Files' premieres Sunday, Jan. 24, on Fox.
