B.D. Wong, star of the upcoming Mulan, revealed many fans were surprised -- and a bit disappointed -- to learn that he doesn't resemble his character, Captain Li Shang, in the remake of the 1998 Disney classic

Wong was shown a clip featuring his character during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I think a lot of teenage girls are somewhat disappointed that I don't really look like that," he said. "I'm very proud to say 'yes, your face is used.' They video tape your face. They use your facial expressions, and yet, somehow, he turned out to be that."

Later in the video, Wong shared his feelings on the upcoming live-action version of Mulan. "I'm interested in it," he continued. "I feel no ownership over the original movie. I'm very proud to have been in that movie."

Though the live-action Mulan looks to feature many of the same characters from the animated classic, they do seem to differ a lot in tone. It has been reported that the new film won't feature any singing, which was a staple of the original.
