While Mushu is not expected to make an appearance in Disney's upcoming live-action remake of Mulan, the fan-favorite dragon may be getting an oversized Pop! figure soon.
The Disney Pop! fan account dis.pops has shared a new online rumor, stating that Disney will announce a new Pop! figure for Mushu standing at ten inches tall, which is over twice as tall as a typical Pop! figure. The account has shared an image of the rumored Pop! for scale.
Voiced by Eddie Murphy, Mushu was a mythical Chinese dragon that accompanied Mulan as she disguised herself as a male soldier to replace her father in the Chinese army, while also driving back a Mongolian invasion and saving China.
While a major character in the original animated film, Mushu has since been confirmed to be absent in next year's live-action adaptation of the story, as well as the previous film's love interest Captain Shang and a lack musical numbers in favor of orchestral arrangements instead.
Mulan is directed by Niki Caro and stars Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Yoson An, Gong Li and Jet Li. The film is scheduled to open on March 27, 2020.
