Yasmeen Fletcher has some encouraging words for Disney's highly-anticipated Ms. Marvel series next year.Fletcher, who plays Kamala Khan's longtime friend Nakia Bahadir, was asked by Variety at the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere what she hopes fans get to see when Ms. Marvel drops. "I'm just hoping it gets to represent everybody as well as we want it to," she responded, alongside co-star Laurel Marsden, wishing that "everybody feels touched by the story as much as we are and everybody cares about it as much as we do."RELATED: Ms. Marvel Stars Reveal the Matching Tattoos the Cast Got Together

First introduced in 2014's Ms. Marvel #1, Nakia adheres to a more dedicated Islamic faith than Kamala but remains her friend throughout the events of the series. While Kamala confides in her other friend Bruno Carrelli about her Inhuman powers, she doesn't do the same for Nakia until confessing her identity in Ms. Marvel #31. Nakia and a collection of Kamala's dearest friends eventually all take on their own vigilante roles after Ms. Marvel briefly steps away from being a superhero. Issue #31 also revealed that Nakia knew Kamala was a crime-fighter all along but was simply waiting for her to reveal the truth.

It's currently unknown how big Fletcher's role will be in Ms. Marvel. A Disney+ Day sizzle reel teaser for the show featured both Iman Vellani's Kamala and Matt Lintz's Bruno, but little of Nakia or Marsden's Zoey. More information on the supporting cast will likely be revealed closer to the series' debut.

Behind-the-scene images of Ms. Marvel show Kamala wearing her iconic uniform, but rumors have suggested that her polymorphic "Emiggening" powers have been altered in favor of a crystallized energy ability. Ms. Marvel marks the first time an Inhuman will be canonically represented in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel Studios produced a dedicated Inhumans series, the critically panned project is not considered canon in the MCU.

After Ms. Marvel, Kamala will appear in The Marvels alongside Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (WandaVision's Teyonah Parris). A recent set photo revealed Vellani getting her makeup done in costume for the Phase 4 film, albeit in a different costume compared to the one seen in Ms. Marvel.

Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
