Iman Vellani would love to see a future Ms. Marvel season recreate Kamala Khan's first crossover with a Marvel superhero.

During her Marvel Studios subreddit page takeover, a fan asked Vellani three separate questions, including whether she had any classic Ms. Marvel stories in mind for future adaptations. In turn, Vellani responded, "I would love to see a Kamala/ Wolverine dynamic in the MCU," echoing Ms. Marvel's run-in with the fan-favorite X-Men character in her original 2014 comic book run. She also suggested an arc from issues #32-35 of Ms. Marvel's 2016 run, describing it as "a really cool story where Kamala fights the Shocker and Bruno ends up seeing all of her possible futures and that makes me really emotional every time I read it."

Kamala first met Wolverine in Ms. Marvel #6 and 7, encountering the fan-favorite Mutant in an underground sewer fighting remote-controlled alligators. This arc also saw Kamala meet her first official supervillain The Inventor, a mad scientist clone of Thomas Edison accidently spliced with cockatrice DNA. At the end of their team-up, Logan deduced Kamala's Inhuman heritage and brought her identity to Queen Medusa's attention, eventually leading to Kamala discovering the source of her powers. A variation of the Inventor storyline was later adapted for the anime series Marvel Future Avengers, albeit with Wolverine fully omitted.

Vellani's request follows the bombshell twist of Ms. Marvel's finale, which suggested that Kamala is a mutant rather than an Inhuman. After learning about her connection to the Clandestines and the extraterrestrial bangle worn by her great-grandmother, Aisha, Kamala's friend Bruno revealed that she has an unusual "mutation" in her genes. This mutation, according to Bruno, was why she could activate the bangle's Hard Light abilities but no one else in her family could; a revelation accompanied by notes from the upcoming X-Men '97 animated theme. This would canonically make her the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first known Mutant character, following years of speculation on how Marvel Studios would adapt the X-Men after the rights to the characters reverted from 20th Century Fox.

Currently, no MCU X-Men castings have been announced, though Kingsman star Taron Edgerton has expressed interest in playing Wolverine. Marvel Studios is also working on Deadpool 3, with co-writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese teasing that, thanks to Deadpool -- a mutant like the X-Men -- semi-officially being an MCU character, they "have a treasure trove of things to poke fun at now." Meanwhile, Ms. Marvel recently starred in the five-issue multiverse miniseries Beyond the Limit and will reunite with Wolverine in Ms. Marvel and Wolverine #1 on August 3. The crossover will be followed by two other team-up issues featuring Moon Knight and Venom.

Ms. Marvel Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+.
