Ms. Marvel Co-Creator Has One Concern About the Live-Action Disney+ Series

The co-creator of Ms. Marvel is a bit concerned as to how the comic book hero's stretchy powers will be be adapted for the small screen in Disney+'s recently announced series.

"She’s got very comic booky powers," G. Willow Wilson said in an interview with Polygon. "God bless them trying to bring that to live action; I don’t know how that’s going to work out in a way that doesn’t look really creepy."

Created in 2013, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel has the ability to stretch, shrink and enlarge her body. Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, Kamala is the first Muslim character to headline a comic book series.

The Ms. Marvel TV series was announced for Disney+ at Marvel Studios' presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Additionally, Marvel confirmed the character would eventually make the jump to the big screen, so a Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel team-up seems highly likely at some point.

Ms. Marvel is one of many Marvel shows confirmed for Disney+, including Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye and Marvel's What If...? Like Ms. Marvel, these show are also expected to connect to the films in significant ways.

Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel is currently in development for Disney+. An official release date has not been revealed, nor has any casting information.
