Though Beyond the Limit #5 concluded with Ms. Marvel, Bruno and Nadia van Dyne defeating interdimensional traveler Qarin, who blamed Kamala for the death of her dimension's Ms. Marvel, they failed to apprehend the man responsible for originally breaching the multiverse. The issue's epilogue revealed this mystery man to still be in possession of the Polchinski Box from Beyond the Limit's first issue and, using its multiverse-tapping power, he gains awareness of several Ms. Marvel variants across time and space. These include two humanoids, Infinity Wars' Kamala Kang and, most notably, a Venom symbiote-wearing Ms. Marvel whose appearance, despite sharing the other three variants' lightning bolt insignia and arm bracelet, leaves her status as friend or foe unclear.

What this individual wants from Kamala Khan's alternate selves is also unknown, though Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit teased its story continues later this summer. The issue also elaborated on how this man's goals tie into Kamala's embiggening powers, which traditionally pull matter from herself across time but, in this case, unwittingly pulled across dimensions from Qarin's Ms. Marvel, Marvel-ji. This, combined with the miniseries' catalyst, unwittingly leads to Marvel-ji's death and Qarin becoming linked to Kamala's power set when she was transported to her world.

Beyond the Limit's catalyst also gave Ms. Marvel the ability to briefly glimpse alternate versions of her alter ego, among them a social media influencer and a buff punk girl. She was additionally transported to another world where everyone, including her friends and parents, acted like they were in a Bollywood film.

Since her 2014 comic debut, Marvel has regularly explored the idea of alternate Ms. Marvels across various storylines. Notable versions include grizzled post-apocalyptic survivor Khan in the Exiles revival and U.S. President Kamala Khan in Old Woman Laura, the latter of whom briefly appeared in Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit's second issue.

Alongside Beyond the Limit, Marvel is currently distributing two other multiverse-themed stories about Miles Morales' Spider-Man and Gwen Stacey's Ghost-Spider. Both focus on "What if...?" versions of Miles and Gwen reimagined as Marvel heroes like Captain America and Thor, but only Gwen's comic, Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse, features her openly teaming up with these counterparts so far. As Miles travels through the multiverse with his genetically-altered clone "brother" Shift in Miles Morales: Spider-Man, the synopsis for the final What If...? Miles Morales issue confirms that a variant crossover will happen.
