"The Office" star Craig Robinson has joined "Mr. Robot" season two as a recurring guest star. According to Variety, he will play Ray, "a neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot in his time of need."

Robinson is known primarily for his comedy roles, particularly in films like "This is the End," "Hot Tub Time Machine," "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and "Pineapple Express." He was also a season regular on "The Office," in which he played warehouse manager Darryl Philbin. On "Mr. Robot," he joins new cast members Joey Bada$$, Chris Conroy and Grace Gummer.

At the conclusion of season one, Elliot -- the security engineer/cyber-vigilante played by Rami Malek -- learned that the anarchist Mr. Robot (Golden Globe winner Christian Slater) is a.) his dead father and b.) a figment of his imagination.

“In Season 2, there will be a lot more backstory that will be shown,” explained creator Sam Esmail, who will direct all 10 episodes of the USA drama’s second season. “And the timeline will get a little clearer. Not a hundred percent clearer, but a little clearer.”

"Mr. Robot" begins production on its second season this month. New episodes are scheduled to air this summer.
