The women of DC Comics now have their own feature film to headline in Warner Bros. expanding comic book movie-verse. "Gotham City Sirens" now has "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer on board and Margot Robbie in a starring role as Harley Quinn. Going off the source material, it seems obvious that Catwoman and Poison Ivy will be included in the film too; Ayer hinted at their inclusion with one tweet, too.

With major DC roles potentially up for grabs, it's not surprising that some stars are campaigning for the parts. Recently, "Mr. Robot" actor Steph Corneliussen expressed her desire to play Poison Ivy on Twitter

Corneliussen plays Joanna Wellick on USA's acclaimed "Mr. Robot," and she's also no stranger to the DC universe -- at least the CW corner of it. In addition to "Mr. Robot," DC fans might recognize Corneliussen from the CW's "Legends of Tomorrow" where she played Valentina Vostok.

So far there have been no further casting announcements for "Gotham City Sirens" other than Robbie. There are rumors that Megan Fox might land the role of Poison Ivy, but those are just rumors right now. We also know that Will Smith would love to bring Deadshot to "GCS" if possible.

Margot Robbie is set to reprise her “Suicide Squad” role as Harley Quinn and will also executive produce the film through her first-look deal with Warner Bros. She reportedly pitched the idea for the film to the studio. Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who is working on scripts for the “Tomb Raider” remake as well as “Sherlock Holmes 3,” has been tapped to write the script. “Gotham City Sirens” does not yet have a release date, but it has reportedly been fast-tracked.
