On several occasions, we've all been sitting in the movie theatre enjoying a film, and then one terrible scene ruins the whole movie-going experience. That one scene, whether it ruins the pacing, adds a new pointless storyline, or is simply just an awful twist, can really damage the overall film.

What was the director thinking? How could they think that scene would make any sense? We've all screamed those words at the screen from time to time even though we all agree no movie can ever be perfect, except Shawshank Redemption of course. The films below are still great, but they all have that one annoying scene that dampens the whole experience.

10 That Awful Dance By Peter Parker In Spider-Man 3

Emo Peter Parker dancing

Spider-Man 3 had many, many flaws. From the over-abundance of villains to the shallow storylines, the film did fall a little flat compared to Sam Raimi's previous two installments in his franchise, but one particular scene really got under the skin of every single fan. When Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man suddenly turns completely emo and hits the dance floor of various jazz clubs, it's hard not to cringe.

What were the writers and Raimi thinking? The dancing was completely embarrassing and the scene just made no sense whatsoever in the grand scheme of the movie. He's awkward, does some weird finger-snapping, and causes every single fan to look away. We haven't even mentioned the hair!

9 Noooooo... We Didn't Need That Scene In Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

Darth Vader screaming no in Revenge of the Sith

Watching Anakin Skywalker evolve into Darth Vader in the prequel trilogy had its ups and downs. His relationship with Obi-Wan was compelling but conflicting. His romance with Padmé was awkward at times. His brutal killing of the younglings seemed a bit unnecessary and uncharacteristic, but the worst of all came when he was finally revealed as Darth Vader.

In what should have been an epic and dark moment, Anakin, now dressed as the formidable Darth Vader, is told that he accidentally killed Padmé. Some fans would have thought this burst of anger would have been frightening and a scary moment, but instead he just screams "Noooooo..." and crashes to the floor.

8 That Remember Me Twist Didn't Work At All

Remember Me

Before Robert Pattinson was starring in sci-fi epics and portraying the Dark Knight, he took the lead role in a romance film called Remember Me. The story built up a big love story behind his character and Emilie De Ravin's character, who both were NYU students from the opposite sides of the class spectrum.

It was emotional, gut-wrenching, full of tear-jerking scenes, and was heading towards becoming a great romance film, until the end. In what they thought would be an incredibly sad twist, it just so happened that Pattinson's Tyler was waiting for his dad in an unnamed high-rising New York building on September 11, 2011. It was a completely random scene just begging for the movie to end tragically, and it didn't really work.

7 The Rise Of Skywalker Didn't Get Off To A Great Start With Its Villain Reveal

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Palpatine Rey

The brand new Star Wars trilogy was full of mixed reviews after its first two installments, so it needed the finale to blow fans' minds, especially after The Last Jedi. But from the very first minute, the negativity around the film began as it revealed to viewers who the main villain was. After spending two movies hyping up Adam Driver's Kylo Ren as the main antagonist, the trilogy took a u-turn and made Palpatine come back from the dead.

That's right, the one who was thrown into the Death Star reactor didn't actually die, no, he survived and even made Snoke. The shock twist that was meant to get everyone off their seats didn't go as planned, and actually left fans really disappointed by the quite lazy reveal which didn't really make any sense.

6 Batman Vs Superman Had One Of The Most Ridiculous Lines Of All Time

Batman Vs Superman

The manipulative Lex Luthor has the world at his fingertips after turning everyone against Superman and his immense powers. Batman is even influenced and creates a kryptonite weapon to defeat the Man of Steel. After a devasting battle between the heroes, Batman stands above Superman, ready for the final punch, until Superman whispers "You're letting him kill Martha!"

And after that, all things were rosy. By coincidence, they both share a mother with the name Martha, and thanks to that reason they both decided to make up and turn against Lex Luthor together. It was a disappointing way to end an epic and gritty battle, which remains the film's weakest link.

5 Interstellar's Big Finale Reveal That Love Is The Fourth Dimension Wasn't The Most Satisfying

Cooper & Murph in Interstellar

Christopher Nolan's big sci-fi, 2001: Space Odyssey-like, epic Interstellar was a massive hit at the box office and among movie enthusiasts, but some found the ending a little bit disappointing. From an incredible journey across time and space, through black holes and exploring other worlds, Interstellar was a cinematic phenomenon, but the realization that the key to saving humanity was love felt a bit deflating.

While the father-daughter relationship between Cooper and Murph was the emotional heart of the movie, the reveal that they used morse code through the fourth dimension to save the world seemed a little unsatisfying and actually made it really confusing.

4 James Bond Surfing Over A Tsunami Was Completely Unrealistic

James Bond in Die Another Day

James Bond's Die Another Day was a movie filled with mixed reviews but it is clear that Pierce Brosnan was an iconic and fan-favorite 007. One scene in particular in this movie, however, was so unrealistic even James Bond probably couldn't have dreamt of pulling off.

After getting forced off a glacier, Bond rose up on a huge tsunami wave parasailing with just a parachute and a bit of metal. That's right, he surfs like a pro on a huge tsunami wave without a proper surfboard and avoiding ice floes as he goes. It's absurd, even for Bond and with the awful CGI, it left a bad taste in fans' mouths.

3 The Matrix Reloaded Was Disappointing, Especially With The Awful Fight Scenes

Neo vs Agent Smith

The Matrix became a massive hit upon its release thanks to its great storytelling, sci-fi plot points, and epic fight scenes, but the next installments failed to live up to its reputation. In fact, it was the fight scenes themselves that ruined The Matrix Reloaded. Although fans loved seeing Neo battle hundreds of Smiths, it got repetitive and was overthrown by awful CGI.

With awkward and unnatural body movements, the Smiths ended up looking like cheap video game fodder, Neo knocking them out with ease in a boring and long fight sequence. By the end, it was quite clear that the filmmakers choose style over substance on this one.

2 Live Free Or Die Hard Had One Of The Most Unrealistic Scenes Of All Time

Bruce Willis Die Hard

While John McClane is known for pulling off some incredible stunts, the most outrageous of them all was him single-handedly taking down an actual fighter jet. This absolute bonkers scene started with a hacker easily taking over control of the fighter jet, and McClane escaping with equal ease.

All this while driving a truck. The scene is completely ridiculous even for the Die Hard series which is known for mind-blowing stunts and action sequences. The way he pulls it off with such ease destroys any suspension of disbelief and really dampens the experience.

1 Iron Man 3's Big Villain Reveal Left Fans With A Lot To Be Desired

Mandarin in the MCU

Iron Man 3 had a lot to live up to after a brilliant first installment and a slightly disappointing second. After the events of Avengers, Stark was battling with PTSD from his near-death experience in the wormhole at the Battle of New York. But, with the rising threat of the Mandarin, he had to go straight back into action.

The promise of the Mandarin appearing in the MCU was epic for most fans but ended in complete disappointment when the character was only being played by an actor in the story. Yep, Ben Kingsley was just faking it. At least Marvel is righting its wrongs with the real Mandarin appearing in the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
