With Halloween quickly approaching, the things on everyone's collective mind are scary movies, pumpkin carving, the best candy, Halloween parties, and, of course, costumes. Undoubtedly the most important decision of the holiday is who to dress up as at the party. With so many great options it can be hard to nail down the perfect costume.
A costume can be extremely elaborate or super simple and be the best outfit at the party either way. So, will the Halloween costume be a classic character or someone from something brand new? Whatever choice is made, there are a few excellent options to consider that come from this year's biggest movies.
10 Bring The Thunder With Thor
Superheroes can be found at every costume party, and Chris Hemsworth's Thor has been a favorite ever since 2011 when the first Thor movie came out and introduced fans to the golden-haired God of Thunder. With the release of Thor: Love and Thunder earlier this year there are more options for costumes.
The classic Thor is always a safe bet, along with Bro-Thor from Endgame, but there is also the new 80s-inspired Thor look with a leather vest. If looking for a more feminine look, Natalie Portman's Jane Foster/Thor is a great option.
9 Break Some Hearts As Elvis
Elvis Presley was one of the most influential musicians ever and has been imitated both during Halloween and every day by impersonators. With that said, it would be no surprise to see a few versions of Elvis at this year's Halloween festivities.
This is even more likely this year thanks to Austin Butler and his amazing portrayal of the King of Rock 'n Roll in Elvis alongside powerhouse Tom Hanks as the King's manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Elvis brought new and old fans of Elvis back to the King's wonderful music and will definitely inspire a costume or two.
8 Marilyn Monroe Will Turn Some Heads
Another classic costume that is sure to be seen nearly every year is Marilyn Monroe. Since Marilyn is one of the most iconic sex symbols and successful women in early cinema, it is no wonder why so many want to be her for at least a night.
Thanks to Ana de Armas, who plays the famous Blonde Bombshell in the 2022 film Blonde, Marilyn Monroe has been brought back into the limelight. There are sure to be a few Marilyns in the iconic white dress at this year's Halloween parties celebrating both the holiday and the iconic actor.
7 Get A Little Weird With Al Yankovic
If a simple costume is what you're going for, then Weird Al is the perfect option. With a Hawaiian shirt, a curly wig, a fake mustache, and maybe an accordion - the easy but classic look of the master of musical parody would be done.
The new biographical parody film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story has reminded everyone of how great Weird Al actually is and even more star power was brought to the film since Daniel Radcliffe plays Yankovic. The movie has given everyone a reason to don a Hawaiian shirt and act a little weird.
6 Sink Your Teeth In As Morbius
Why not continue to carry the memes a bit further and dress as the most unfortunate vampire of the year, Morbius? Perhaps one of the most meme'd movies of recent history, Morbius received parodied praise as the peak of cinema this year.
Despite the faux praise, Morbius offers several great costume options. Wearing all black and a long dark wig would allow anyone to become the title character pre-transformation. Morbius's post-vampire transformation offers a scary costume option as well with a distorted face, fangs, and claws.
5 Search For Prey As The Feral Predator
The newest installment in the Predator franchise surpassed the expectations of critics and fans when Prey was released earlier this year. Prey is full of great characters, including the protagonist, Naru, but the character that was the most visually impressive was the film's Predator.
Referred to as the "Feral Predator," Prey's Yuatja had a more primal aesthetic, using a mask made of bone rather than the typical metal helmet seen in the other installments. This imposing figure would make for an amazing Halloween costume sure to wow the crowd.
4 Delve Into The Multiverse As Doctor Strange
It's hard to pass up on a great character who is played by an attractive actor for a costume idea. Many fans crush on Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, silver-streaked hair included. The release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has guaranteed that there will be at least one former Sorcerer Supreme at this year's Halloween Party.
Doctor Strange can be depicted as his suit-wearing self from the beginning of the movie, or with the classic outfit including his iconic cloak. Go the extra mile and wear acrylic spell symbols on your hands to add a bit of magic to the outfit or maybe add a third eye.
3 Everyone Wants To Be Batman
There is always at least one Batman at the Halloween party every year, probably since the introduction of Batman in 1939. Regardless, Batman has been a beloved superhero for decades, and the availability of Batman costumes of varying versions has made the Dark Knight a staple costume.
However, there may be more Batman costumes this year thanks to The Batman. Robert Pattinson's version of Bruce Wayne/Batman brought some realistic grit to the fan-favorite superhero and will undoubtedly inspire many to don the cape and cowl this Halloween.

Rob Zombie has revitalized a classic TV series by remaking The Munsters. The film is based on the 1960s sitcom of the same name that follows a ragtag family of eccentric versions of classic monsters, including vampires and a parody of Frankenstein's Monster.
The Munsters allows people to dress as classic horror icons with a comedic twist. At least if someone doesn't recognize the costume as one of the Munsters, it will be recognized as the monster of which it is a parody. The Munsters was released at the end of September this year, just in time to watch before Halloween.
1 Halloween Is The Best Time Of Year For Hocus Pocus' Sanderson Sisters
A Halloween classic and fan favorite film, Hocus Pocus finally received a sequel after 29 years. The Sanderson Sisters, portrayed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, have been Halloween icons for the past three decades, and it's not hard to see why.
Hocus Pocus 2 was released to Disney+ this year and has brought the witch sisters back to center stage for fans of the classic film. Not only that, but this new film is sure to bring in more fans with whatever shenanigans the sisters get into in this installment. Someone will light the Black Flame Candle and bring the Sanderson Sisters to the party.
