"Mouse Guard" Film in Development at Fox with "Rogue One" Writer

20th Century Fox will adapt "Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard," from Boom! Studios. The film will be a mix of live action and CGI, as in the vein of "Planet of the Apes" and "The Jungle Book."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" writer Gary Whitta will pen the script for "Mouse Guard," reports The Hollywood Reporter, and "Planet of the Apes" director Matt Reeves is on board to produce.

"Mouse Guard" is an Eisner Award-winning graphic novel that was written and illustrated by David Petersen. It follows the story of a league of mice who are tasked to protect the common mice in medieval times. "Mouse Guard" is published by Boom! Studios' imprint Archaia and is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary.
