Devil fruits are an integral part of One Piece, and it's safe to say the series wouldn't be the same without them, even if some characters make do with other skills. But while raw strength – or a lack thereof – certainly factors into a fruit's power, so does versatility to just as much of a degree.

Luffy's fame isn't due to being some one-trick pony, it's the ways he's figured out to use his fruit throughout his adventure, and the same can be said for many other devil fruits, well known or not. There's a reason the resourceful trickster is a favorite archetype among many audiences.

10 The Suke Suke no Mi Is The Epitome Of Stealth

Shiryu Attacking Gecko Moria

An often underrated power, invisibility can be surprisingly useful. The ability to just walk past danger or sneak up behind someone is not something to be taken lightly, as demonstrated well by characters like Toru Hagakure from My Hero Academia, and the Suke Suke no Mi renders anything carried invisible to boot.

Its first user Absalom made decent use of it, but when Shiryu obtained it, the fruit's true potential became apparent. Shiryu was already feared as the former Head Jailer of Impel Down, and the ability to strike unseen made him an even greater threat than before.

9 The Mini Mini no Mi Allows The User To Change Size At Will

The Mini Mini no Mi is an unusual devil fruit with powers that, in part at least, depending on who eats it. While anyone will gain the ability to shrink down, the maximum size this fruit will let them reach is still limited by their height at the time they eat it.

Despite this limitation, it can prove useful for everyday life, and combat should the need arise, as demonstrated well by Lily Enstomach during the Z's Ambition arc, where she combined the stealth and mobility granted by this fruit with her immense strength and endurance.

8 The Kibi Kibi no Mi Can Make Anyone A Beastmaster

Otama offering a dango from One Piece

As shown by characters like DC's Aquaman, the ability to command animals to do one's will is nothing to sniff at, and the Kibi Kibi no Mi can even control those who have eaten an artificial "SMILE" fruit, thanks to their half-beast nature. The effects are long-lasting as well, taking a month to expire.

Fittingly, the fruit's current user, a young girl named Otama, has made excellent use of its powers, befriending or controlling everything from the sword-wielding baboon Hichimaru to a large swath of Kaidou's Beast Pirates. While tasty, the mind-controlling dango produced by this fruit is unfortunately said to lack any notable nutrients.

7 The Hito Hito no Mi Has Been Made Versatile Thanks To Chopper

A strange devil fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi grants the eater the ability to change into a human or half-human form. While utterly useless to most potential eaters, it can bestow great intelligence on any animal that should eat it, as demonstrated to a great extent by Tony Tony Chopper.

Initially only allowing him to transform into a handful of forms, Chopper has since expanded the fruit's uses greatly, from increasing his strength or defenses to the towering transformation of his "Monster Point," a powerful form that consumes a great deal of energy in return, rendering him near-helpless for a time afterward.

6 The Raki Raki no Mi Is The Ultimate Good Luck Charm

Baccarat using her Raki Raki no Mi

Granting its users supernatural luck at the cost of draining the luck of those they touch, the Raki Raki no Mi is a potent fruit. While its effects may eventually expire, either from time or from unlikely events, its eater is never reduced below a baseline of "normal" luck.

Baccarat showcased the devil fruit's powers well in One Piece Film: Gold, using it not only to manipulate the odds at the floating casino-city of Gran Tesoro but also to fight Luffy and Sanji to a standstill using only a coin, only being defeated due to last-minute subterfuge from Ussop.

5 The Doru Doru no Mi Can Make Anything Out Of Wax

Mr. 3 Galdino One Piece

One of the first devil fruits to be introduced in the series, the Doru Doru no Mi is also one of the most versatile, allowing its user to create and manipulate vast quantities of super-hard wax, whether for massive structures or tiny tools. As a side effect, a flame also sprouts atop their head.

While the Straw Hats swiftly defeated Galdino (then known by his alias "Mr. 3") in his first appearance, he proved vital to the escape from Impel Down, even going toe to toe with the then-warden Magellan, using his wax to protect against their poisons.

4 The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu Grants All The Powers Of A Magical Dragon

A devil fruit with no overt downside, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu allows its user to transform into a massive magical dragon, with great strength, speed, and extraordinary defenses fitting a beast of legend, as well as the ability to move entire islands or unleash massive blasts of fire.

Kaido made excellent use of the fruit's power in his conquests, though certain weaknesses eventually came to light. While its scales are tough, certain attacks can pass through them, and while size certainly grants strength, it also makes the fruit's user a big target if their enemies worth together.

3 Luffy Has Made Great Use Of His Stretchy Gomu Gomu no Mi

Granting its user a stretchy rubber body, the Gomu Gomu no Mi has seen extensive use thanks to being eaten by Monkey D. Luffy, allowing him to leap around the battlefield, reflect attacks, and much more. It was only recently that its true nature as a Mythical Zoan was revealed, though.

With this new insight, the Gomu Gomu – Now the "Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika" – has awakened to even greater levels of power, letting Luffy bounce back from almost any attack and even stretch the ground itself, all in a fast-paced homage to classic animation and slapstick fights.

2 The Soru Soru no Mi Can Make Anything A Friend

Big Mom Soul Fruit Homies

Big Mom's Soru Soru no Mi is a powerful fruit, which is likely why she remained one of the most threatening of the Straw Hats' foes for so long. The ability to grant any object a soul is potent and versatile, only growing in strength the more minions the user obtains.

While simple on the surface, the ability to not only ask an obstacle to move, but to carry and serve the user is potent. The wide variety of "homies" shown only proves that, ranging from tiny household objects to an entire living ship or a miniature sun.

1 With The Fude Fude no Mi, One's Imagination Is The Only Limit

Kurozumi Kanjuro Using His Drawing Skills

Creativity is power, at least when it comes to the Fude Fude no Mi. Able to literally bring any drawing to life, the only limit is the user's imagination and skill with a brush. Anything from weapons to creatures to objects like a ladder or a head of lettuce are options.

It was a somewhat unsung devil fruit for a long time, as its user Kanjuro intentionally downplayed his skills. Still, its true power came to light once he dropped his deception, creating lifelike beasts, near-perfect "clones," or even conjuring deadly rainfalls of hardened ink to strike entire ships at once.
