Since the rise of the superhero movies, Marvel has become famous for its many teams. In Marvel comics, the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four are some of the most famous superhero teams there are. Although there are quite a few well-known teams in the comics, there are even more teams most people have never heard of.

One of the lesser-known super-teams in Marvel comics is the Midnight Sons. Formed in order to combat supernatural threats, the Midnight Sons are comprised of some of Marvel's deadliest supernatural heroes.

10 10. Elsa Bloodstone

 

Eliza Bloodstone

Daughter of the immortal monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa was raised to follow in her father's footsteps. The Bloodstone family is one of the only groups keeping the Marvel universe safe from supernatural threats. This makes Elsa a perfect candidate for the Midnight Sons, for whom she quickly established herself as a vital member.

In addition to her hand to hand combat skills and proficiency with guns, Elsa has a few superpowers as well. Elsa exhibits super strength, speed, endurance, durability in addition to a healing factor. Also, not only is she immune to vampire bites, but also her blood kills any vampire unfortunate enough to choose her as prey.

9 9. Werewolf by Night

Jacob Russoff inherited the curse of the werewolf from his father, Gregor. After his powers manifested, Jacob began to travel the world as a vagabond, using his powers when he could to help those in need.

During the night of a full moon and the nights around then, Jacob turns into a powerful werewolf. When Jacob turns, he grows to seven feet tall and gains superhuman strength, reflexes, durability, agility, stamina, and speed. Werewolf by Night also has an incredibly strong healing factor.

8 8. Blade

Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, was born a half-vampire. Trained by a vampire hunter since Eric was young, he later became the greatest vampire hunter in the world. Invariably, Blade tends to show up in any Marvel story where vampires appear.

Blade has superhumanly enhanced physical attributes as well an expertise in the strengths and weaknesses of vampires. Although Eric has many of the strengths of a vampire, he does not have their weaknesses. The most notable example of this is the fact that Blade is unaffected by daylight.

One of the only superheroes with multiple personality disorder,  Moon Knight has always been one of the most interesting heroes to date. His wealth, martial arts expertise, and a large amount of crimefighting equipment have made him a sort of Batman-type character within Marvel comics.

Moon Knight's mystical connection to the Egyptian moon-god Khonshu makes him a great member of a supernatural crimefighting team such as the Midnight Sons.

6 6. Morbius

Surprisingly enough, this scary-looking Marvel creature was actually originally a Spider-Man villain. Dr. Michael Morbius attempted to cure his own blood disease with a treatment of vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy. His cure was a success, in a way.

Although not technically a vampire, Morbius was given a "pseudo-vampirism," forcing him to drink blood in order to survive. Although initially a villain, Morbius later became an anti-hero, wishing to use his curse in the service of others.

5 5. Man-Thing

Not to be confused with DC comics Swamp-Thing, Man-Thing is another good-intentioned swamp monster residing within the Florida Everglades. Originally a biochemist from Nebraska, Dr. Ted Sallis was merged with the swamp due to a mixture of scientific chemicals and strange magical energies.

As the Man-Thing, Sallis can sense human emotions and is enraged by fear. This monstrosity can also sense evil intentions, often deciding to punish those who harbor them. Man-Thing produces deadly acid that can burn his enemies to death. He also has near invulnerability and enhanced physical abilities, such as strength.

4 4. Daimon Hellstrom

The son of Satan himself, Daimon Hellstrom has vowed to use his arcane abilities to undo all the damage his father has caused. After growing up in a Jesuit orphanage, Daimon studied anthropology at university before becoming a supernatural investigator.

Thanks to his parentage, Hellstrom has a variety of demonic powers at his disposal. Most notably, he can produce and project magical energies, such as soul fire, from his trident.

3 3. Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch)

Although not the original Ghost Rider, it was during Danny Ketch's run with the flaming skull that character became popular. After discovering a mysterious motorcycle with a mystical sigil, Ketch touched it, unleashing a demonic spirit that transformed him into the second Ghost Rider.

In addition to the typical enhanced physical abilities of most heroes, Ghost Rider can also use the Penance Stare, an ability which makes its victim feel all the emotional pain he/she has ever caused anyone else. This in addition to his indescribable motorcycle made of hellfire, makes Danny Ketch one of the most powerful Midnight Sons.

Dr. Stephen Strange was an exceedingly arrogant surgeon. That is until a debilitating injury took away the use of his hands. Seeking to find enlightenment and regain the use of his hands, Doctor Strange sought out the Ancient One. The Ancient One saw potential in Strange and chose him as a pupil.

Since then, Strange has become one of the most powerful magic users in the cosmos. Between his spellcasting and the seemingly endless amount of mystical weapons he utilizes, there's no telling how powerful Doctor Strange can be at any given moment. As the Sorceror Supreme, he has proven to be one of the most powerful human beings on Earth. With such grand mystical knowledge and power, he is the perfect leader for the Midnight Sons.

1 1. Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze)

Bonded with the Spirit of Vengeance Zarathos, Johnny Blaze has become one of the most powerful mystical beings in the Marvel universe. When unleashing the full extent of his power, Ghost Rider can be on par with a God.

Just like Ketch, Blaze has enhanced physical powers as well as the Penance Stare. He also uses a mystical chain made of pure hellfire. The movement of this chain is completely controlled by Blaze's mind. Doctor Strange has described the demon Zarathos as one of the most powerful entities in the universe. At times Blaze has been able to summon enough of this power to make him the most powerful member of the Midnight Sons.
