Fans are excited to see a new live-action adaptation of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The “First Family of Comics” is one of the most powerful Marvel teams due to cosmic-powered members like Human Torch and Invisible Woman. However, the team has welcomed a few other powerful heroes onto the Fantastic Four as well.

When the core members of the Fantastic Four need to take a break, the team brings on substitutes to keep them at full power. This method maintains the team’s four members and has led to the addition of quite a few heavy hitters to the Fantastic Four. With so many members, it can sometimes be difficult for some fans to determine which hero is the strongest.

10 Crystal Is An Inhuman Who Can Control The Elements

Crystal with the Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four were one of the first Marvel teams to discover the existence of the Inhumans. Johnny Storm met and fell in love with one of the most powerful members of the Inhumans, Crystal. The Inhumans gained their abilities through exposure to the Terrigen Mists. Crystal became an elemental who could manipulate earth, wind, water and fire in various powerful ways.

When Susan Storm-Richards was pregnant with her first child, she took a leave of absence from the Fantastic Four. Crystal and Johnny were dating, and she agreed to fill in on the team while Sue was away. Crystal’s elemental control served her well on the team. Unfortunately, she returned to Attilan due to the sickening pollutants in New York City.

9 Spider-Man Has The Proportionate Abilities Of A Spider

When a Skrull kidnapped the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man joined with a few other heroes to form the short-lived New Fantastic Four. Spider-Man gained one of his most impressive costumes when he later joined the Future Foundation after Human Torch’s apparent death. He would again form a New Fantastic Four with Wolverine, Franklin and Valeria Richards during the Empyre storyline.

Peter Parker gained the proportionate abilities of a spider when he was still in high school. Spider-Man took on the Fantastic Four by himself in one of his earliest outings. He demonstrated his incredible speed, strength, agility, and his ability to stick to walls. He also showed off his spider-sense that warned him of danger and the versatile webbing he invented.

8 Ghost Rider Is A Hellfire-Controlling Spirit Of Vengeance

Another hero who joined Spider-Man on the New Fantastic Four was the Spirit of Vengeance known as Ghost Rider. He also uses a devastating Penance Stare that can take most criminals out of the fight.

Johnny Storm is a founding member of the Fantastic Four as the Human Torch. He joined his sister and the rest of the team on their ill-fated adventure in space that exposed them to transforming cosmic rays. As the Human Torch, he can cover himself in flame and fly. He is also able to generate devastating amounts of energy through his nova flame, wiping out the most powerful enemies.

Johnny Storm can also mentally control any flame in his vicinity. He has as much precise control as he has power. One of the strongest characters Human Torch beat is the whole Annihilation Wave. He held off in the Negative Zone by himself to give the rest of the FF the chance to escape. Human Torch has joined the Inhumans and the Avengers Unity Squad over the years as well.

While she is better known as a member of the X-Men, Ororo Munroe has also joined a few other Marvel teams as Storm. She joined the Fantastic Four shortly after the Civil War event, alongside her husband at the time, Black Panther. Reed and Sue Richards took some time away from the team to work on their marriage, so Black Panther and Storm filled in temporarily.

Storm is a powerful omega-level mutant with weather-manipulating abilities. Munroe has a unique connection to the planet’s atmosphere which led to her being worshipped as a goddess when she was younger. She is able to use her abilities to manipulate the weather both offensively and defensively. Storm has proven her omega-level abilities quite a few ways over the years.

5 She-Hulk Gained Gamma-Powered Strength From Her Cousin

Ben Grimm was usually the powerhouse of the Fantastic Four. However, when he decided to stay on Battleworld after the first Secret Wars event, She-Hulk agreed to join the team in his place. She lost her ability to transform back into her human form during her time with the team. She-Hulk left the Fantastic Four after the Thing returned and rejoined the Avengers.

She-Hulk became one of the strongest Hulks after her cousin Bruce Banner saved her life with a blood transfusion. His gamma-irradiated blood caused her to transform into a green-skinned powerhouse as well. However, She-Hulk usually retained her intelligence, unlike her cousin. Her strength can fluctuate as well, and she has a grey She-Hulk form that’s even more powerful.

Reed Richards’ best friend from college joined him on the mission to space, which led to Ben Grimm’s transformation into The Thing. It is possible for Thing to be hurt, as his arm has been broken and his face scarred after a run-in with Wolverine. However, his grit and determination push the powerful member of the Fantastic Four ahead of some other heroes because he does not quit. The Thing has held his own against powerful heroes like the Hulk and villains like Doctor Doom with ease.

3 The Hulk Is The Strongest One There Is In The Marvel Universe

When the New Fantastic Four first formed, Hulk joined Spider-Man, Ghost Rider and Wolverine as the temporary replacement for the First Family. He also reformed with the team as Doctor Strange’s Secret Defenders. He even returned with Ghost Rider to help Spider-Man during the “Revenge of the Sinister Six” storyline alongside Sleepwalker.

Bruce Banner gained incredible strength after exposure to the blast of his own experimental gamma bomb. He transformed into the Incredible Hulk first at night before the change became ruled by his emotions. Hulk is the strongest one there is because of his rage-enhanced strength. The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets, which means he can generally overpower any foe.

Susan Storm is the older sister of Johnny and one of the leaders of the Fantastic Four as Invisible Woman. When she first gained her powers from the cosmic rays, she learned she could turn invisible and began calling herself the Invisible Girl. However, as her powers continued to increase and she became a married woman, she changed her codename to match.

One thing everyone forgets about Invisible Woman is that she’s the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four. She can create powerful invisible force fields that she can use in various ways. She can transport herself and others, protect herself with shields, or attack with invisible constructs. She’s even taken out heroes like The Hulk by asphyxiating him with a force bubble.

1 Powerhouse Can Create Universes And Manipulate Reality

Franklin Richards as Powerhouse using his abilities in front of Doctor Doom

The union of Reed Richards and Sue Storm has produced two powerful and brilliant children. Their firstborn was the omega-level mutant named Franklin Richards, though his status as a mutant has been called into question recently. He had access to incredible amounts of cosmic energy that allowed him to manipulate reality on a huge scale.

Even as a small child, Franklin was able to create his own pocket dimensions filled with living beings. He has a few psionic abilities as well that a future version known as Psi-Lord used quite destructively. Franklin Richards helped rebuild the multiverse after the Secret Wars event. He eventually took on the name Powerhouse and joined the rest of his family as a member of the FF.
