In every fictional super powered universe, and every genre, there is a narrative crafted around who reigns supreme and this is especially true for anime characters. Ninjas, mutants, demons, cyborgs and aliens litter the screen with sword strokes powerful enough to slice through steel and energy blasts that can level mountains. Anime has such a varied cast of characters and powers, it can sometimes be hard to judge who would beat who in a one on one fight. However, that doesn’t stop us from hypothesizing.
We think this list is pretty accurate, but is in no sense definitive. Whereas some characters may be clear standouts, there is always subjectivity when it comes to assessing powers. Personal preferences do have an impact when it comes to determining who would beat who. We’d also like to state that although there may be some more powerful characters in anime, this list is based off of what we’ve seen. Yes, the Grand Priest from Dragon Ball Super is incredibly powerful, but until he throws down, we have to leave him off the list. That being said, we present to you, for the first time ever, the 25 most powerful anime characters ever ranked from the least to the most powerful.
25 KENSHIN HIMURA
He may be low on our list, but don’t underestimate this red haired, ex-hitokiri from the Rurouni Kenshin series. Despite his small stature, he is regarded as one of the most powerful and legendary swordsmen to ever exist. After slaughtering countless people during the Meiji Revolution, Kenshin hung up his blade, vowing to never kill again. He travels around Japan as a rurouni, a wandering, masterless samurai, seeking redemption for the lives he’s taken. Kenshin wields a Sakabato as his weapon of choice, a katana with the blade forged on the opposite side, making it a poor fit for killing.
While Kenshin’s vow to not kill makes him less dangerous as an enemy, he is in no way weak.
He inherits the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu sword style from his master, a form of kenjutsu meant to allow a single samurai to defeat multiple enemies at once. Also known as the Flying Heavenly Sword Style, this type of fighting is based on speed. Countless times, we’ve seen Kenshin rip through a horde of bandits in mere seconds. The fact that he can take out so many enemies while refusing to kill shows just how skilled he really is. For example, if he uses the sharp side of his sword, he can cut through steel like hot butter.
24 SHINICHI IZUMI
A warning for the easily scared -- Parasyte is not a series for the faint of heart. It’s violent and utterly devastating. But terrible circumstances always lead to interesting heroes, and Shinichi Izumi is one of the most unique in anime history. In this series, human bodies are taken over by parasitic aliens that feast on human flesh. Shinichi is lucky that the alien parasite, Migi, only takes over his hand, not his entire body. When they first bond, Shinichi is an average teenager who relies on Migi to protect him. Migi is able to change shape, composition and is incredibly smart and strong for his size.
However, after Shinichi is attacked and almost killed by another alien, Migi disperses 30% of his body into Shinichi’s. This causes Shinichi to develop powers similar to the parasites. He gains enhanced strength, speed, durability and vastly improved mental faculties. By himself, he may not be much of a fighter, but after contracting alien powers he’s many times stronger than a normal human. Not to mention Migi is incredibly smart, and is a combat strategist for the two. This allows them to take out enemies much stronger than themselves, such as the practically invincible Gotou.
23 EREN JAEGER
Attack on Titan has been one the most popular anime series in the past couple years. It’s a beautiful blend of action and horror, made terrifying by the man-eating Titans. When we’re first introduced to Eren, he is a member of the Survey Corps. A team of soldiers dedicated to protecting the populace from the threat of Titans. While a skilled soldier in this form, Eren makes this list because of this ability to transform into the Attack Titan. When he transforms, he morphs into a 15-meter tall, muscular Titan, with enough power to take down groups of regular Titans with ease.
Originally, Eren lost control when in his Titan form, but he is now able to control it.
When he transforms, he retains his intelligence and military training making him that much more dangerous. The reason that he doesn’t make it higher on this list, is because he can’t always rely on his Titan form. To transform, he needs to physically injure himself. Characters in the manga and anime have gotten around this problem by tying his hands together and gagging him. There is no doubt that Titan Eren is ridiculously powerful, but his human form would be crushed by anyone else on this list.
22 EDWARD ELRIC
Edward Elric is the main protagonist in the series Fullmetal Alchemist. In this series, alchemy is an ancient metaphysical science/magical art of manipulating and altering matter by utilizing natural energy. To put it simply, alchemists can transform and alter matter into other matter to suit their purposes. Edward stands out among other alchemists for a number of reasons. He’s the youngest State Alchemist in history, achieving his certification by the time he was 12. This alone proves that he is a capable combatant.
Furthermore, Edward has a steel right leg and arm due to a botched transmutation attempt, where he and his brother Alphonse, tried to resurrect their dead mother. It went horribly wrong, resulting in Edward losing his right arm and leg, and Alphonse’s soul was trapped inside a suit of armor. Typically, alchemists need to draw a transmutation circle before attempting alchemy. Part of what makes Edward so powerful, is he is one of the very few alchemists with no need to draw these circles. By simply placing his hands together, he replaces the need for a transmutation circle, allowing him to instantly transmute in the midst of battle. He most often uses transmutation on his own steel arm, turning it into a variety of different weapons like a blade.
Few anime series are more tragic than Berserk. Seriously, this guy just can’t catch a break. But tragedy can give way to great strength, and Guts is no exception. Guts, also referred to as the Black Swordsman, is an ex-mercenary and one of the unlucky humans to be branded with the Brand of Sacrifice -- a brand that causes him to be hunted by flesh craving monsters.
Lucky for us, but unlucky for Guts, he’s been forced to battle humans, monsters and gods his entire life.
Since the age of nine he’s been a soldier on the battlefield. His titanic strength is a result of, from the age of six, training with swords that were way too big for him. His combat abilities are so great, that during his mercenary days, he single-handedly defeated a troop of 100 soldiers. He is strong enough to take out a number of apostles -- former humans who have ascended to join the ranks of demon kind. Perhaps more powerful than any weapon he has, is Guts incredible will power. We can’t even begin to list the terrible things that have happened to him. However, we can whole heartedly say, that a man who would cut off his own arm to get to him enemy, is someone you don’t want to mess with.
Don't let One Piece’s care-free captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy, and his toothy smile distract you -- he’s going to be king of the pirates someday. From some of his first fights against people like Buggy and Captain Koro, to his epic battle with Donquixote Doflamingo, we’ve seen Luffy’s power increase exponentially. His Devil Fruit, which turns his body into rubber, was initially thought to be one of the weaker ones in the series. However, after extensive training, he unlocked the massive potential of his power. He is incredibly strong and fast, and his rubber body makes him impervious to most attacks. After training, he has developed three different ‘gears’, which is a different utilization of his power. For example, gear third occurs when Luffy inflates his muscles with air, making them much bigger.
Luffy’s strength is further solidified due to his inclusion in the Worst Generation. These are 11 notorious, powerful rookie pirates who are wanted for their actions committed against the World Governments. Here is a short list of some feats of strength Luffy has accomplished: dropkicked an entire building to the ground, knocked out a giant capable of withstanding 10,000 tons being dropped on him with one punch and tanked two punches from Gecko Moria, who just before, split and island in half with a single strike.
19 TETSUO SHIMA
Tetsuo Shima is the main antagonist in the 1988 Japanese cyberpunk anime film, Akira. Shotaro Kaneda and Tetsuo Shima are friends in a biker gang, until one night, Tetsuo is injured when he almost runs over a young boy on the street. While in the hospital recovering, government officials discover that Tetsuo possesses vast psychic capabilities, similar to the esper Akira, who’s power destroyed Japan 31 years earlier. After unlocking his abilities, Tetsuo has a vast array of telekinetic powers. He can fly, generate force fields so he can breathe in space, bend light, levitate objects and channel his telekinesis into powerful energy blasts.
As a result of government experimentation, Tetsuo has heightened healing abilities, durability and superhuman endurance.
His arm was blasted off by a satellite orbital laser, but this didn’t slow him down. He just replaced his arm with a mechanical one. Unfortunately for Tetsuo, his powers drove him mad. His violent search for more power caused him to overstep his bounds. Unable to control his newfound abilities, he transforms into a giant fleshy mass that results in one of the most disturbing anime scenes we’ve ever seen. His vast psychic powers put him a level above the fisticuff fighters listed after him.
In One Piece, Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard, captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, is hailed as the strongest man in the world. The first time we saw him on screen, we knew he’d be a powerhouse. His stature is imposing and his scars tell a tale of the countless battles he survived. He is one of the Yonko, the four most formidable pirates that rule the second half of the Grand Line. Even as his old man, his physical strength alone eclipses that of giants. Add onto that his Devil Fruit power, which grants him to ability to generate earthquakes, and he’s truly a fearsome opponent.
His endurance is legendary, and his death at the battle of Marineford just reinforced that. During the battle against the Navy, he sustained 267 sword wounds, 152 gunshot wounds, 46 cannonball injuries and had half of his face blown off by Akainu. Did he fall? No, not even once. Even after he succumbs to his injuries and dies, he remains standing. The earthquakes he generates can take down entire buildings and cause tsunamis. This is all made more impressive by the fact he has debilitating health problems. When he’s not fighting, he is surrounded nurses, hooked up to IV bags and has oxygen tubes shoved up his nose. Even at 72, it took the entire Navy to bring him down.
17 YUSUKE URAMESHI
Yusuke Urameshi is the half human/half demon protagonist in the series YuYu Hakusho. As a Spirit Detective, he protects the human world from supernatural threats like spirits and demons. His prowess with spiritual energy, plus his demonic ancestry, puts him leagues above his human companions. He has incredible endurance, shown when he fought for 60+ hours against Yomi, one of the rulers of the demon realm. A shockwave from his punch at one third of his power is enough to knock out a boxer.
He also has a mastery of spirit energy, which allows him to fire multiple different kinds of projectiles to defeat his enemies.
His signature move, the Spirit-Gun, fires a concentrated blast of energy from his right index finger. In the beginning of the series, it was enough to smash a small boulder. By the end, once Yusuke unlocked his demon powers, it was near to the destructive level of atomic explosions. Unfortunately, we never really got to see his full power in action, because the Demon World Tournament saga was underwhelmingly short. However, we know that his father, Raizen, was at one time the most powerful demon in the demon realm. We can only assume that Yusuke will follow in his footsteps.
16 ICHIGO KUROSAKI
Ichigo Kurosaki is the protagonist in the Bleach series. He is a Soul Reaper, responsible for providing safe passage to spirits who are traveling between the human world and afterlife. Soul Reapers are also responsible for fighting and defeating dangerous lost souls called hollows, who are unable to rest and travel to the afterlife. Every Soul Reaper carries around a Zanpakuto, which is a sword that can cut spiritual bodies, making them one of the only weapons to dispatch hollows.
For high ranking Soul Reapers, their Zanpakuto can evolve, reflecting their power and soul. Ichigo has an incredibly powerful Zanpakuto named Zangetsu, which when released into its final form, boosts Ichigo’s strength and speed to superhuman levels. He also has an abnormally large amount of Reiatsu, or spiritual energy. It has been noted that despite the fact he is a new Soul Reaper, he has more spirit energy than many of the captains of the Soul Society. This energy can be translated into physical strength, or projected in his signature attack, Getsuga Tensho. The attack works by allowing the sword to absorb and condense his spiritual energy, before releasing it in the form of a black crescent moon that can demolish entire towns.
15 AKIRA FUDO / DEVILMAN
Akira Fudo is the protagonist in the 1972 anime series, Devilman. Originally a weak-willed, teenage crybaby, Akira gains the powers and memories of the demon hero Amon, when Amon possesses him. However, due to the fact he has a pure heart, Akira retains his human consciousness despite gaining a whole host of demonic powers. He uses these powers to protect humanity from hordes of demonic creatures who seek humanity’s destruction. How strong do you get when you’re possessed by a demon? Pretty strong apparently, and it’s nothing like Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist. No, Devilman doesn’t spew out litres of green bile.
Instead, when Akira transforms, his strength, speed, reflexes, endurance and combat skills all rise to superhuman, or superdemon, levels.
He has enough physical strength to literally tear demons in half with his bare hands, leap over tall buildings (in a single bound a la Superman), fly, project energy beams from his antenna, teleport and breath hot enough flames to reduce his enemies to ash within seconds. Furthermore, he can phase through walls and can even increase his size, as if being a regular sized demon wasn’t scary enough. He shows signs of telepathic abilities, but watching him tear demonic beasts in half barehanded proves to us just how powerful he is.
All-Might is one of the many Superman-esque anime heroes. Otherwise known as Toshinori Yagi, All-Might is one of the main characters in My Hero Academia series and is regarded as the strongest hero in the world. Although he has gotten weaker over time, he is the eighth holder of the incredibly powerful quirk, One For All. He has passed on the power to his successor, Izuku Midoriya, but is still able to assume his muscular hero form for a limited amount of time.
The power of One For All allows the user to stockpile and access power, which in turn grants momentary, nearly unlimited, superhuman strength, agility and speed. A single punch from All-Might can generate enough wind pressure to destroy several city blocks. He took multiple point-blank explosions from Katsuki Bakugo, regarded as one of the strongest young heroes, with no damage at all. He’s this universe’s equivalent of Superman. All-Might’s physical power is some of the greatest in anime history. However, his physical strength isn’t his only power. All-Might is called the Symbol of Peace, and even his name is a huge deterrent against crime. The mere thought that he may pop up during a burglary is enough to keep most criminals from making a move. Those that do, soon regret it once they experience the power of All-Might’s Texas Smash.
With 100% certainty, we can say that Shigeo Kageyama, aka Mob, from the Mob Psycho 100 series, definitely looks like the weakest character on this list. He has a generally passive expression on his face, and that bowl cut isn’t doing him any favors. Mob isn’t physically powerful, but he has incredible latent psychic abilities that are triggered by extreme emotions. Due to an incident when he was a kid, he subconsciously sealed away most of his power. However, when a particular emotion like anger, sadness or courage reaches 100%, his full psychic abilities are unleashed.
When his hair stands on end and he finally assumes an expression on his face, it’s a good sign to run away.
Mob has immeasurable telekinetic powers, able to move entire buildings, create indestructible force fields, fly, and disassemble/reconstruct matter on a molecular level. Add onto this that he can absorb energy from other espers and the environment around him, and Mob’s power seems limitless. The only reason he isn’t higher on the list is because if he isn’t at 100% or ???% of his power, some higher ranked characters could defeat him. He can only achieve ???% when he’s unconscious and acting on survival instinct alone, but if he gets to that state, our advice to all anime characters is to walk in the opposite direction.
Toriko, from the anime of the same name, is the epitome of brute strength. The number of holes that he has punched through adversaries is truly mind boggling. He is a member of the Four Heavenly Kings -- gourmet hunters who stand a level above the rest. In a world where food is at the center of everything, Toriko spends his life hunting and eating rare ingredients. A single punch is enough to shatter a mountain and clenching his fist generates enough power to cause a gust of wind. Fitting for a series focused on food, two of Toriko’s main attacks are ‘Fork’ and ‘Knife’.
Fork is a piercing attack that Toriko performs with his hand in a claw like position. He can easily pierce through most surfaces, and uses this technique to immobilize his prey. ‘Knife’ is a chopping attack, that despite being flesh and bone, is ridiculously sharp and can cut through steel. His strength is also greatly augmented by the appetite demons that live inside of him. These are literal monsters, born from the appetite of Gourmet Cells, who choose a host to inhabit. Toriko is unique in that he has three appetite demons residing in his body. Over time, Toriko learns to harness their powers to an extent, but, the demons are incredibly powerful and misusing them could completely destroy him.
For the keen observer, you can notice that Alucard’s name spelled backwards is Dracula. That tells you a little bit about what to expect from him. He’s the protagonist in the Hellsing series, and it’s implied that he is the most powerful vampire alive. He’s an egotistical, ferocious and cruel adversary, and that’s why we love him. He uses his vampiric abilities in the right way. One of his only downfalls is his arrogance in his powers, which has lead to him been taken by surprise in battle.
However, if we had his powers, we’d be a little full of ourselves as well.
Like all vampires, he has enhanced everything -- he's far faster, stronger and tougher than regular humans. Perhaps his most useful ability is that he can almost instantly recover from any kind of physical injury. He’s been ripped to shreds by guns, but regenerates in a matter of seconds. Alucard is also biologically immortal, and despite his human appearance, he is actually made up of a dark otherworldly substance that can be utilized as a weapon. Like any protagonist worth their salt, Alucard can transform to increase his power. There are six levels of his power, each with a corresponding state when the power is released. His final form is so powerful that supposedly he could punch a hole through the world. Ouch.
10 MADARA UCHIHA
Madara was the once legendary leader of the Uchiha clan and is a primary antagonist in the Naruto series. Prior to his resurgence at the end of the anime, he was regarded as one of the most gifted shinobi in history. Like Naruto, he was born with an abnormally large amount of chakra. Although he primarily uses ninjutsu, he is still an incredibly skilled hand to hand combatant. This is shown when he singe-handedly defeats hundreds of opponents with taijutsu when attacked by the Fourth Division. He is also master of the Sharigan, a powerful technique of the Uchiha clan. He’s master of nearly every ninja skill, and then he transforms to get even stronger!
The tailed beasts are some of the most powerful characters in the Naruto series. So, when Madara seals Ten-Tails, the progenitor of chakra, within his body, he becomes near unstoppable. He is able to create the Truth Seeking Spheres: orbs of chakra that can obliterate anything they touch and nullify any technique used against him. After regaining both his Rinnengan, the most exalted eye technique in the series, he is able to hypnotize every living thing on the planet. Lucky for us, a certain blonde ninja wasn’t too fond of that idea.
9 NARUTO UZUMAKI
Naruto is the definition of an underdog. For a long time, he was despised by those around him. Immature and reckless is no way for a ninja to behave. However, as he grew up, he began to focus more on his training. By the end of the series, he is in the running for strongest character in the Naruto franchise. Naruto is a jinchuriki, a host body for the nin-tailed beast Kurama. Initially, Naruto had poor control over his chakra, but more than made up for it with the vast reserves granted by Kurama.
The nine-tailed beast’s power was uncontrollable at first and Naruto was only able to access it through sheer rage.
However, by the end of the anime, he has virtually complete control of the tailed-beast. He is able to channel Kurama’s chakra to transform into Kurama mode, which surrounds his body in yellow chakra, greatly boosting all of his abilities. When he uses this form, mixed with sage mode and the Six Path’s Sage Chakra, he is a match for Madara Uchiha. He even displayed great feats of strength before unlocking Kurama’s power. When learning the sage mode, he was able to lift a gigantic stone statue of a frog over his head. There’s no doubt that if he wanted to, Naruto could destroy entire cities in seconds.
8 LAIN IWAKURA
Iwakura Lain is the protagonist of the science fiction series Serial Experiments Lain. The story focuses around Lain and her introduction to the Wired, a global virtual reality-world, similar to the internet. The series focuses in the increasingly thin invisible line between what is real and what is virtual and what happens when that line fades. For broad strokes purposes, think The Matrix. The series progresses and Lain eventually discovers that she isn’t even human. She is in fact an autonomous and sentient computer program that has been given a corporeal, human form to blend into the real world. Her purpose is to sever the invisible barrier between the real world and the Wired.
She comes to the realization that she is essentially the goddess of the Wired. Lain is an omnipotent and omnipresent virtual being, which comes with quite a few reality bending powers. She has the ability to warp reality, shown when she reset all the events that happened in the series. Since she is a computer program, Lain has the ability to manipulate and delete virtual information, making it so people aren’t aware of certain events. She can erase/rewrite memories and is an omnipresent being who exists everywhere and within everyone in both the Wired and the real world. Not a fist fighter, but bending reality is a true show of power.
7 LIGHT YAGAMI
Light Yagami is the protagonist of the very popular Death Note series. He has the honor of being the only person on this list who doesn’t actually have any powers himself. His power comes from a Death Note, the supernatural notebook of shinigamis that is used to take human life. Light comes into possession of a Death Note after it is dropped in the human world by Shinigami Ryuk. The main rule of the Death Note is simple: the human whose name is written in this note shall die.
Light is a genius and he decides to use the Death Note as a form of justice, killing people who he decides don’t deserve to live.
However, all this power warps Light. He is convinced that the world is a rotten place and it is up to him to rid it of evil people. Originally kind and caring, the prolonged use of the Death Note makes him ruthless. Not a good trait for someone who can kill by simply writing a name. Light shows us that the pen truly is mightier than the sword. However, he doesn’t take a higher spot on this list because the Death Note exclusively works on humans. So demons, vampires or Saiyans are immune to the power of the Death Note.
Saitama is the main protagonist of the One-Punch Man series. In a world filled to the brim with superheroes and superpowers, Saitama rises far above the rest. He is so powerful in fact, that he faces the daily existential crisis of being too strong to enjoy being a hero. When every battle ends with one punch, fighting becomes a bit monotonous. How did he gain such a ferocious power? According to him, it was a strict training regiment of 100 daily push-ups, sit-ups, squats and a 10-kilometer run. However, most characters in the show don’t believe him, and the origins of his power are a source of mystery.
So how strong is he? Well, in the entirety of the anime so far, we’ve seen Saitama throw one serious punch. Against enemies that crushed the like of Genos, a simple swing of Saitama’s arm liquidizes their abdomen. His one serious attack was in the epic battle against Lord Boros. Saitama’s serious punch negates an attack from Boros that has enough power to destroy a planet. The shockwave of the punch alone ripped Boros to shreds and parted the clouds around the entire earth. Boros then mentioned that this wasn’t even close to his full power. Until we see Saitama at his fullest, we can’t in good conscience put him higher on the list.
The hero of hero among anime characters, Goku is legendary in terms of his power. From the beginning of the Dragon Ball anime series, it has been made clear that most characters have the strength to destroy entire planets. So, after the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super, Goku’s strength is almost unfathomable. Time and time again he’s foiled the evil plans of alien overlords, vengeful androids and destructive djinns. His Ka-me-ha-me-ha is arguably the most iconic signature move in anime and has been the downfall of many foes.
After the Tournament of Power, Goku has shown to have power levels rivaling that of the gods.
This is proven when he masters ultra instinct and overwhelms Jiren, who is stated to have power that even gods would struggle to defeat. So why is he below Jiren? Well, he doesn’t have control over activating ultra instinct. It’s triggered when he’s backed into a corner. Although the tournament of power spanned many episodes, it was in reality, only a 48-minute contest. Of those 48, Goku only manages to keep his mastered ultra instinct form activated for one minute before it severely backlashes on his body. So, if he runs into an enemy he can’t defeat in one minute with mastered ultra instinct, he’ll be in trouble.
Jiren is the one to beat in the Tournament of Power. He is a mortal who is said to have a power that rivals the gods. He’s the polar opposite of Goku. Whereas Goku is care-free and talkative, Jiren is stoic, serious and talks very little. Jiren has an unshakeable confidence in his power. He takes the most powerful attacks of Universe 7 fighters like Vegeta, Frieza and Goku head on without taking any visual damage. The source of his strength comes from the traumatizing loss of his family he suffered during his childhood. Jiren believes that absolute strength is the only way to achieve justice, and lives to prove that he is the mightiest warrior.
The battles during the Tournament of Power were likely the first instance of him struggling in a long time. In fact, until Goku mastered ultra instinct, hardly anyone managed to injure him. Even the combined force of Ultra Blue Vegeta and Goku’s Kaioken boosted SSB form, were nothing in front of the overwhelming might of Jiren. In the end, a weakened Jiren was defeated when Goku, Frieza and Android 17 teamed up on him. But when it comes to one on one, he was the strongest fighter in the tournament. But until he proves he can defeat a God of Destruction, we can’t list him above characters like Beerus.
Beerus is not a cat you want to cuddle. He is the God of Destruction of Universe 7. He’s initially an antagonist in the series, but later on becomes a supporting member of the cast. Like most cats, he is perpetually lazy, but don’t let this distract you. He is incredibly powerful, being regarded as one of the strongest among the 12 Gods of Destruction. His job is simple: maintain balance in the universe.
He does this by sleeping for several years to decades at a time and when he wakes up, he destroys a couple planets to make room for new ones to grow.
Like a cat with a mouse, Beerus toys with even the Saiyans. During his first fight with Super Saiyan God Goku, the fists of the two connected, causing ripples throughout the entire universe. This occurred even though Beerus was still holding back a considerable amount of his strength. His ultimate technique is called Hakai, which literally means destruction. It is an energy available to all Gods of Destruction that can completely obliterate and object or entity in the universe (save for high-tier gods). He kindly doesn’t use this in his fights against the Saiyans, but if he did, the Dragon Ball Super series would have been much shorter.
Despite his garb, which makes it look like he just took a wrong turn off the catwalk, Whis is an incredibly powerful angel. He is the attendant and martial arts teacher for Beerus. We don’t commonly think of angels as being more powerful than gods, but in this case they are. Whis is the strongest being of Universe 7, and Beerus himself has stated that Whis is far stronger than him. Whereas Super Saiyan God Goku could barely handle Beerus at half of his full strength, Whis knocked out a rampaging Beerus with a single chop to the neck.
He effortlessly fends off Goku and Vegeta simultaneously, casually dodging all of their best attacks with his hands behind his back. A single finger has enough power to stop the planet shattering punches of the two Saiyan warriors. His power is matched only by his speed. He explains to Goku and Vegeta that each of his limbs acts as its own organism. This eliminates the need for thoughts to travel to the brain, granting him much faster reaction time. Along with punches powerful enough to defeat gods, his staff can make objects vanish and reappear, materialize new objects from nothing and he can transport people to his own, inescapable pocket dimension. He may be an angel, but this is not someone to be messed around with.
Yep, this short, colourful, football shaped head guy is the most powerful character in anime. Also referred to as the Omni-King, he is one of the kings of the 12 universes, alongside his future counterpart, Future Zeno. Zeno is the king of all and the god of gods. He has a child-like and innocent demeanor, which masks just how powerful he really is. According to Whis, there were originally 18 universes, but when Zeno was in a particularly grumpy mood he destroyed six of them. Needless to say, his name strikes fears into the hearts of even the Gods of Destruction
However, he is one of the few characters on this list who doesn’t actually fight.
He doesn’t seem to have particularly good fighting instincts either, as he was unable to track Dypso’s movements during the Tournament of Power. However, when you’re one of only two characters known to use the ‘erase’ ability, you don’t need to know how to throw a punch. Nobody in the world in greater than Zeno. He has the power to instantly destroy anything he wants. From individual people, to planets, galaxies or even entire universes in the blink of an eye. If he wanted to, he could simply erase everything that exists. Thankfully for us Dragon Ball fans, he doesn’t.
