The world of anime is often focused on young adult heroes who are typically single and not tied down to a household, so they can go on adventures, but some anime characters, typically supporting or background characters, are married and have settled down. These are often the parents or grandparents of the main characters, especially in shonen and shojo series.
Many adult anime characters are husbands and wives, and these marriages range from dysfunctional and miserable to happy and healthy and everything in between. Some of the best marriages are truly inspiring and heart-warming to see, and may even inspire other characters in the series.
10 Tamako Yukihira Always Cooked For Love (Food Wars!)
Protagonist Soma Yukihira learned vital lessons about cooking and love from his parents, Tamako and Joichiro. Both parents were deeply committed to each other and to their family diner, and they knew that love was the secret ingredient.
Tamako didn't have her husband's skills in the kitchen, but she did have fun cooking for her husband and son anyway, and that was enough for her. She imparted this lesson to Soma before her tragic demise, and Soma will never forget it.
9 Mikoto Uchiha Did Her Best In A Difficult Family (Naruto)
The Uchiha clan is a troubled family, and even before Itachi Uchiha slaughtered them, there was palpable tension between Itachi, his brother Sasuke and their father, Fugaku. But there was one bright spot: Mikoto Uchiha, Sasuke and Itachi's doting mother and Fugaku's wife.
Mikoto was a skilled ninja in her own right, but she was mainly concerned with supporting her family, proving herself a wonderful wife and mother. She was always there to comfort Sasuke when he felt ignored, and she did her best to be Fugaku's better half.
8 Suzie Q Fell Hard For Joseph (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
Suzie Q was a minor character in the Battle Tendency story arc as a friend to Lisa Lisa the hamon master. She and Joseph Joestar annoyed each other at first, but it wasn't long before sparks were flying, and after Kars' defeat, the two of them were happily married. They later had a daughter, Holly Joestar.
Suzie Q is fully committed to her husband, and her feelings were still strong as of the 1980s, during the Stardust Crusaders story arc. The problem is Joseph, who cheated on her with Tomoko Higashikata. Thus his second child was born: Josuke Higashikata.
7 Bisca Connell Happily Married Alzack (Fairy Tail)
Bisca Mulan became Bisca Connell when she married her fellow Fairy Tail guildmate Alzack Connell sometime after the Tenrou Island arc began. The two of them already had a mutual interest, but they really dragged their feet for a time. When Natsu and his friends returned from Tenrou Island, they were in for some surprises.
Unfortunately, the Fairy Tail guild had hit some hard times, but, on the plus side, there was the all-new Connell household, and Bisca had a daughter with Alzack, little Asuka. In many ways, Asuka takes after both parents.
6 Carla Yeager Found Domestic Bliss With Grisha (Attack On Titan)
The story of Attack on Titan is a dark one, but there were a few bright spots, including the Yeager household for a time. Grisha arrived on Paradis Island after growing up in the Marley Empire, and he married a fellow Eldian, Carla. With her, he had his second child, Eren Yeager.
Attack on Titan's first episode made it clear that, while Grisha was hiding many serious secrets, the Yeager household was still a happy one and Carla was having the time of her life. She doted on her husband and son, and she also got along wonderfully with Mikasa and Armin, Eren's friends.
5 Masaki Kurosaki Loved Her Family (Bleach)
Masaki Kurosaki was already deceased as of Bleach's first season, but a few flashbacks made it clear that she was a wonderful wife and mother during her lifetime. She met her future husband, Captain Isshin Shiba, while fighting a Hollow named White together.
Masaki absolutely doted on her family, most of all her son, Ichigo, who would cling tightly to her anytime he was upset. Masaki and Isshin were close until Masaki's tragic death at the hands of Grand Fisher, inspiring Isshin to visit her gravesite every year. He also has a large poster of Masaki on the living room wall to honor his late wife and the love they had shared.
4 Mrs. Uraraka Works Hard Together With Her Husband To Support Her Family (My Hero Academia)
Not much is known of Ochaco's parents, not even their names, but the few available details are promising. Ochaco's parents are clearly close to one another and their lone daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Uraraka work themselves to the bone to support their household.
This isn't an easy life, as the Urarakas sometimes struggle with money and employment prospects. None of this dampens their spirits, though, and Mrs. Uraraka and her husband both enthusiastically support their hero daughter and each other. Mrs. Uraraka is pretty much a hero in her own right.
3 Trisha Elric Wouldn't Call Hohenheim A Monster (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Trisha Elric wasn't an alchemist or soldier, but she did have strength of spirit, enough to inspire even an ancient and powerful being like Van Hohenheim, the living Philosopher's Stone. She and Hohenheim married and had two sons together, and Trisha took pride in her family.
Trisha lived a quiet but happy life in remote Resembool, marveling at her sons' genius while also supporting her husband however she could. She sternly told Hohenheim to stop seeing himself as a monster or freak and insisted that he belongs in this family and deserves happiness. Hohenheim was moved to tears.
2 Helga Supported Her Family Despite Hardship (Vinland Saga)
Helga is the daughter of Sigvald, the then-commander of the Jomsvikings, and she ran away with her future husband, Thors, after Thors decided to quit war once and for all. This was a rough start to the marriage, but Helga put up with the hardship anyway, and she settled down with Thors on the coast of Iceland.
Helga helped run a humble and hardworking household with her husband, and they had a daughter, Ylva, then a son, Thorfinn, together. Helga cared deeply for her entire family, and she was no doubt devastated when Thors failed to return home from his last adventure. She compensates by carefully looking after her remaining family.

Marriage isn't guaranteed to fix a relationship or change someone's life for the better, but that was definitely the case for Kyoko Honda, born Kyoko Katsunuma. She was a bitter and frustrated delinquent for years on end, but that changed when she married Katsuya Honda.
Despite their different ages and stations in life, the two of them fell in love and later married, and Kyoko became the young mother to Tohru Honda. Kyoko was happy at last, and her husband and daughter meant everything to her. She managed her intense grief after Katsuya died of illness, and she died asking Kyo to look after Tohru.
