Honest Trailers' latest video takes down the Mortal Kombat reboot.

Calling the film "a feature-length teaser for a future movie that one day may contain a Mortal Kombat tournament," the Honest Trailer points out how Mortal Kombat walks the line between "a martial arts movie that takes itself too seriously" and "a campy B-movie." Critique is also given to new character Cole Young, the lack of focus on Sub-Zero and Scorpion's rivalry and rapid cuts that undermined seeing its real martial artists fight on-screen.

Cole is dubbed the "Harry Potter of Luke Skywalkers" and the trailer pokes fun at how he mostly loses fights on-screen despite being a descendent from a great ninja warrior.

However, the Honest Trailer praises Josh Lawson's performance as Kano and the fatalities within Mortal Kombat. It also continues to give hilarious nicknames to the cast including "The Girl Wants The Dragon Tattoo" for Sonya Blade and "Frosty The Ronin" for Sub-Zero. The trailer also puts its own spin on the classic "Toasty" game mechanic from Mortal Kombat -- albeit with Leonardo DiCaprio's Rick Dalton from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan, Mortal Kombat stars Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson "Jax" Bridges, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Matilda Kimber as Emily Young and Laura Brent as Allison Young. The film is now in theaters and on HBO Max.
