The following contains spoilers for Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, now available on digital HD and Blu-ray.

One of the aspects fans have come to accept, love and crave when it comes to the Mortal Kombat series is the concept of gory Fatalities. It doesn't matter if it's in comics, cartoons, live-action movies, or animated flicks; loyalists just want blood and guts spilled. Admittedly, it's what the franchise has been built on for 30 years of video games.

And thankfully, it's something the Mortal Kombat Legends movies have never held back on, with Scorpion's Revenge and Battle for the Realms depicting some brutal kills that subvert yet honor what's been seen in the games over the decades. As for the latest chapter, Snow Blind, well, there are even more over-the-top murders taking place as King Kano runs wild, so let's rank the goriest ones seen.

Shang Tsung Gets Decapitated

Shang Tsung will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Shang Tsung initially seems to be Kano's lackey, weak and subservient in his old decrepit form. However, after tricking Kenshi into gaining him access to the Well of Souls, the shape-shifting sorcerer gets rejuvenated by absorbing all the dead spirits, per the source material. As such, the youthful martial artist heads off to Kano's compound for a coup, but it doesn't work out in his favor. His soul-sucking powers aren't working, allowing Kano to restrain him and smash the mage's head into the wall. He cracks Shang-Tsung's face open, leaving his eye bulging out, and rips his head off with ease, laughing to send a message to the others.

Kobra Is Busted Open

Kobra will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Just before Shang Tsung dies, he fires off his iconic green fireballs at Kano. While the leader dodges them, the on-looking Kobra isn't that smart. He gets caught with one that goes straight through his torso, leaving viewers staring at all his innards as blood drips down. Kobra then drops to the ground, but sadly, Kano doesn't even bat an eyelash, as Kobra never meant anything to him -- he was just a pawn in the Black Dragon movement, enslaving folks across the land.

Kira Gets Sliced Up

Kira will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

In Snow Blind's high-octane finale, Sub-Zero brings Scorpion over from the Netherrealm, taking him to rescue Kenshi from Kano's clutches. And make no mistake, the trio cut loose in vindictive fashion, hating on how Kano's subjugated so many innocents. Kenshi, blinded by the Well and Shang Tsung's scheming, does manage to see, though, via the Sento blade, nodding to Daredevil. In his scrap with Kira, he impales her, viewing her insides, à la the x-ray mode in Mortal Kombat X. He then slowly runs the sword up through her body and heart before pulling it out and slicing her head off. It's a patient, torturous kill, but one he thoroughly enjoys.

No Face Gets Roasted and Chopped Up

No Face will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

No Face is the Black Dragon's resident explosives expert. He walks around with his gas tank on his back and a flamethrower, which invites the attention of another fire-lover, Scorpion. The yellow-clad ninja digs his chain-spear into the tank, transferring his Hellfire to light No Face aflame. However, sensing No Face will enjoy this death, Scorpion chucks his spear and chops off the pyrotechnic's head in what's basically a two-for-one combo of death.

Erron Black Gets Diced As Well

Erron Black will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Erron Black, the signature gunman introduced in Mortal Kombat X, cuts an intimidating figure, shooting up Scorpion with his pistols. However, the undead wraith enjoys the challenge, spearing off Erron's shooting hand before impaling him with the chain. He then does the iconic "Get over here!" pull, which lands Erron onto one of Scorpion's swords. He then plunges the other into Erron's torso, using both blades to cut him down the middle in quite a graphic scene.

Kabal Gets Incinerated With a Toasty!

Kabal will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Of course, it wouldn't be a Mortal Kombat adaption if Scorpion didn't pull off his most famous finisher -- the Toasty! He ends up fighting Kabal, and while the Black Dragon thug thinks his speed and crowbars can do the trick, Scorpion catches him and rips the mask off. He reveals his flaming skull and roasts Kabal alive, melting his opponent's metal faceplate and then melting his face off in a sequence fit for a horror movie.

Ferra & Torr Are Royally Skewered

Ferra and Torr will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Scorpion gets another horrific Fatality under his belt when he tackles Ferra and Torr. He spears the pint-sized Ferra, who usually sits on Torr's back, and then yanks her straight through Torr's skull. Such is the velocity, Ferra smashes Torr's head clean off, but the pain's not done yet. Scorpion swings her around, uses her momentum, and crashes her through Torr's body, killing both in one of Snow Blind's bloodiest, most dynamic ends.

Tremor Gets Slit up by Kenshi

Tremor will be in Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind

Tremor, who can control rock formations and flames, beat Kenshi mercilessly in Snow Blind's first act, so the blind ninja is all too eager for retribution. It leads to a scrap in a cage, where Kenshi finally becomes one with his Sento blade. He ends up gutting Tremor while levitating him in the air using his telekinesis. The icing on the cake comes when Kenshi uses the sword, lifting it up, too, and slicing Tremor vertically in half, homaging his Mortal Kombat X finisher.

Kano Gets Iced & Crushed

Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind has Kenshi gunning for Kano

Kano gets attacked by Sub-Zero in Snow Blind's finale in a brilliant brawl in Kronika's throne room. There, her machines are working to keep the timestream flowing, with Kano intent on using her Hourglass and the Sands of Time to keep rewriting reality. With this edge, he's able to lop off Sub-Zero's arm, but the ice-ninja reciprocates and then rams Kano's sword into his own chest. Sub-Zero quickly uses his ice blasts to restrain the cyborg before dropping him into the gears. Kano is slowly crushed in yet another graphic scene, with his brains and eyes popping out, nodding to Mortal Kombat's penchant for Stage Fatalities over the years.

To see all these terrifying deaths in action, Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind is now available digitally and on 4K/Blu-ray.
