Stallone first portrayed Rambo in First Blood, based on the novel of the same name by David Morrell. Rambo served in the Vietnam War, but his experiences left him with massive post-traumatic stress disorder. Throughout the Rambo film series, Rambo utilizes his military training to dispatch his foes.

Rambo is not the only character to make the leap from film to Mortal Kombat. Other characters from films and even comics are playable in Mortal Kombat 11, including Peter Weller reprising his role as RoboCop and Image Comics' antihero Spawn.

Mortal Kombat Ultimate 11 arrives on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC Nov. 17. The game contains the "Kombat Pack 2" with Rambo, as well as the "Aftermath" expansion and "Krossplay" support allowing players to fight each other across platforms.
