Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon posted a video to Twitter that seamlessly blends the gaming franchise's latest installment, Mortal Kombat 11, with the 1995 feature film adaptation.

The scene begins with Johnny Cage entering Hell and looking around. Suddenly Scorpion bellows "Welcome!" and slams a fist into his face. The image then transitions to in-game footage, featuring an X-ray of Cage's skull being smashed into pieces. "I doubt this MK game/movie video edit will ever be topped," Boon said.

Mortal Kombat 11 features the keeper of time Kronnika rewriting history, resulting in several Mortal Kombat characters encountering younger versions of themselves. DLC additions to the game have seen various characters from other franchises join the action, including Robocop and John Rambo.

Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, the Mortal Kombat film has grown into a cult classic. It led to a sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, and even inspired the television series Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm and Mortal Kombat: Conquest. Recently, Mortal Kombat 11 introduced a trio of skins inspired by the film. Linden Ashby returned to voice Johnny Cage, alongside Bridgette Wilson as Sonya Blade and Christopher Lambert as the Thunder God Raiden.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia. The Kombat Pack 2 expansion and Ultimate bundle are both now available.
