During today's Kombat Kast stream, Netherrealm announced that another "klassic kharacter" is returning for Mortal Kombat 11, the green ninja Jade.

Netherrealm dropped a few hints about her inclusion earlier today on Twitter and kicked the stream off with an appropriately bloody trailer. From the looks of things, she hasn't lost her edge in the slightest since her last playable appearance in 2011's Mortal Kombat.

Originally, Jade was just a green palette swap of the ninja Kitana when she first appeared in Mortal Kombat II. In Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, she joined the franchise's roster as a afully playable character who as an assassin for Shao Kahn, and she's generally regarded as one of the best characters in terms of gameplay.

After several subsequent appearances, Jade skipped 2015's Mortal Kombat X completely. In the previous game, she was violently killed by Sindel and later resurrected by Quan Chi as an undead Revenant.

While she's still a Revenant in the new game, Jade continues to use her signature teleport move and assassin skills in gameplay. In addition to her energy staff, she also possesses a glaive that can be thrown or used to slice up her opponents. For those going up against her, Netherrealm advised players to calm down and pick an opportunity to strike, since her combo abilities aren't the best.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on Apr. 23 for PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
