The new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 just dropped and, sticking to the tradition of the franchise, the game will have no shortage of amazingly violent fatalities when it releases this April. The roughly 2-minute long gameplay trailer gives glimpses at several classic characters in action, as well as a look at the new time-manipulating character Geras.
From Baraka tearing off faces and chomping on limbs, to Soyna shattering rib cages and snapping necks, this gameplay trailer has a lot to like. And the person who cut the trailer must be a fan of Skarlet, because she's shown doing all sorts of cool stuff here, between gutting her enemies and pulling all the blood out of their bodies, she's clearly not to be trifled with.
The trailer shows us there are 25 character slots, though only eight names have been confirmed as playable so far so far: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Raiden and Geras, with Shao Khan being available via pre-order. Additionally, both Liu Kang and Kung Lao are featured heavily in the story portion of the trailer, so it's probably safe to assume they'll be playable at some point as well. Add in the fact that last month Todd MacFarlane said Spawn will be popping up in MK11 and the roster starts to round out a bit.
Additionally, developer NetherRealm Studios released a new prologue trailer today.
Mortal Kombat 11 goes on sale April 23 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are available starting March 28.
