A flurry of Mortal Kombat 11 reveals were capped off today with the surprise return of a fan-favorite character. Debuting in Mortal Kombat X, D’Vorah arrived with a move set based around skin-crawling bug attacks and poison spit. Mortal Kombat 11 will mark the character’s second appearance.
The reveal came during a special segment on the second season premiere of Inside Xbox. Though most of the information presented was a recap of previous reveals, D’Vorah was a surprise announcement to wrap up a week that already confirmed Mortal Kombat’s Kano and Mortal Kombat 3’s Kabal as playable fighters.

A member of the Kytinn race, D’Vorah debuted as a loyal advisor to Outworld ruler Kotal Kahn. However, she would be revealed as a traitor, stealing Shinnok’s amulet from Kotal so that Quan Chi could revive the fallen Elder God. D’Vorah was ultimately captured after the final battle with Shinnok, one of the few villains to survive.
D’Vorah has received a minor overhaul for Mortal Kombat 11, with her appearance resembling more of a hard carapace and gaining tendrils resembling hair. Overall, she brings much of her previous look into the game.
It remains to be seen how D’Vorah will play compared to her Mortal Kombat X version. The next KombatKast live stream is scheduled for February 14 and promises to reveal a new female fighter.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on April 23, 2019.
