Entertainment Weekly has a new clip teasing "Gotham's" midseason debut, set to air on Fox this coming Monday. The episode, titled "Rogues' Gallery," finds Jim Gordon transferred from the GCPD to Arkham Asylum, where now finds himself playing security guard to the criminally insane.

The clip -- which you can check out here -- prominently features new addition Dr. Leslie Thompkins, played by "Homeland" and "Firefly" alum Morena Baccarin. Thompkins and Gordon hit it off under potentially awkward circumstances; she's treating a patient and he's apparently recovering from some sort of dust-up in Arkham. The doctor admits that she finds the ex-cop's inclination to take a stand against corruption admirable and she initially comes across as a potential ally for Gordon -- if not something more.

"Jim finds an ally in her," Baccarin told Entertainment Weekly, "which I think is important for him at this point. He's beaten down by the system and he's been fighting this one-man operation to make Gotham not as corrupt. I think it's really important that he finds that relationship in Leslie."

"Gotham" returns Monday, January 5 on Fox.
