If the ratings from the second half of The CW's action-packed crossover episode of "Arrow" are any indication, television audiences are hungry for superhero teams.

The overnight ratings for the second half of this year's "Flash"/"Arrow" crossover saw the latter show's numbers rise significantly. 3.6 million viewers (a 33 percent increase) tuned in to see what was in store for Hawkgirl, Hawkman and Vandal Savage. The episode scored a 1.3 rating, an increase of 18 percent over the previous episode. And the good news continued for the network, as "Supernatural" took advantage of its lead-in's increased viewership for a 24 percent increase in its audience.

"The Flash" also saw a ratings boost from the crossover, albeit a less dramatic one. The first half of the 2-part story increased by 11 percent, drawing in 3.94 million viewers and a 1.4 rating.

With the effects-heavy, ensemble cast-led "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" prepping for its debut, The CW has to be pleased with these numbers. Starring Hawkgirl, Hawkman, the Atom, White Canary, Firestorm and more "Arrow" and "Flash" characters, the heavily hyped spinoff series kicks off its mid-season run Jan. 21 with a storyline that spins directly out of the just-concluded crossover.
