Official Press Release

Boston, MA — Electric Girl’s Shock the Vote and Read a
Book campaign has created a substantially higher voter turnout than
expected, with librarians from all over voting and registering to see just
how the one-of-a-kind Electric Girl poster will look when the polls close.
To reward the rabid voting taking place at

Mike Brennan, creator of Electric Girl, has decided to double the number
of voting librarian raffle winners from 5 to 10. Each of the ten winners
will receive Electric Girl graphic novels Volume 1, 2 and 3, plus a free
Blammo doll!

“When I launched this campaign,” said Brennan, “my goal was to reward
libraries for all of their hard work and support. I knew a poster was
cool, but I sweetened the deal a bit to encourage a decent turnout at the
polls by offering five lucky voters the chance to win an Electric Girl
prize pack—you know, to, uh, ‘encourage’ voters. So. Decent voter
turnout? Check! Plenty of registrants? Check! Enough brib—, er, prizes?

The Shock the Vote and Read a book campaign works like this: Brennan has
created three poster designs on which librarians can vote. Librarians are
encouraged to visit the Electric Girl voting booth at

scrutinize the candidates, then lock in their vote. The winning candidate
will quickly be produced in a limited print run and made available to
libraries that request them while supplies last.

Polls will close at midnight on Friday, March 31, shortly after the Public
Library Association show in Boston (Mar 21 – 25).
