WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Morbius, now playing in theaters.

Morbius is Sony's latest film and most recent villainous addition following Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The movie followed Dr. Michael Morbius as he tried to cure himself of a degenerative blood disease via a dangerous experiment with bats. Unfortunately, not only was he "cured," but he was also cursed to be a living vampire, driven to feed on human blood. At the end of the film, he is on the run and alone, but a mid-credits scene reveals that Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes was transported to this reality. But how did Toomes obtain a totally upgraded set of Vulture wings in a world where there was no alien tech to salvage?

Since Morbius didn't give a timeframe of when Toomes made his wings after being sent to this reality as a side effect of Doctor Strange's spell of forgetting in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's easy to assume he acclimated quickly. But even still, his upgraded outfit and flight rig seemed highly advanced, even with his limited skill in engineering. But according to Reddit user Jug1212, the reason for this could be because the rig was actually from none other than Oscorp Industries of The Amazing Spider-Man film universe. If true, this would also mean that Venom's universe is also connected to Andrew Garfield's continuity.

In The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Oscorp took on a persona similar to Arkham Asylum in that it was a hub for most of the hero's deadliest villains. The main difference was that while Oscorp was where The Lizard, Green Goblin and Electro were born, they were all created accidentally. But in the subbasement that held the serum that turned Harry Osborn into the Goblin, there were also biomechanical objects that resembled Doc Ock's tentacles and the Vulture's wings. While they aren't an exact replica of what was shown in Morbius, the wings were still far more streamlined than what was shown in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

While the Morbius theory could explain why Toomes was able to get wings in such a short amount of time, how he did so is another factor that has yet to be explored. If set in the Andrew Garfield universe, one example could be that Toomes was scouted by Gustav Fiers, the man in the shadows of The Amazing Spider-Man movies. If so, he could have found Adrian via the newscasts and quickly offered him a job opportunity, only to learn that he knew of Spider-Man and already had experience with technology similar to their own. Another less likely possibility is that Toomes somehow found his way into the Oscorp subbasement and took the wings. However, considering this isn't the first time Sony has tried to develop a Sinister Six, it seems more likely that Toomes was allowed to scout and lead a team of his own, with Fiers acting as a benefactor.

As for what could have changed the wings since The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Toomes was always somewhat privy to basic engineering. He also had a soft spot for his flight rig and always ensured that his tech was updated. However, since there was no Chitauri tech in Morbius' universe, it's more likely that he had to make do with anything he could find to create something comparable. Plus, with Venom also existing in this universe, there could also be assets from the Life Foundation that he could use to help improve his gear.

The Vulture's presence in Morbius has created quite a confusion in this newly formed multiverse of heroes and villains. But even when things may not make the most sense, there's always a chance that the answers could be right in front of the viewer. In this case, there's no confirmation that these wings are the same as the ones in Oscorp. But if they were, it would help open multiple doors for both Venom and Garfield's Spider-Man to take a more active role in this universe. As a result, even more exciting battles and characters could be just around the corner.

To examine the Vulture's new set of wings, Morbius is in theaters now.
