The new Morbius trailer looks to have leaked early, teasing the film's connection to the Venom and Spider-Man films.

Popping up on social media a day before the second Morbius trailer is set to officially release, the low-quality, minute-long teaser offers more looks at Jared Leto's monstrous character. The trailer also includes Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes and ends with Let's Dr. Michael Morbius jokingly telling someone "I. Am. Venom." There's also more footage of Morbius fighting and new shots of his transformed face. The trailer landed on YouTube earlier, but Sony pulled it, which is likely what will happen to the version now floating around social media.

Morbius follows the titular doctor, who becomes a vampire-like being after attempting to cure his rare blood disease. Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, the Marvel character first appeared in 1971's Amazing Spider-Man #101. Originally a Spidey rogue, Morbius has since gone on to become an anti-hero, similar to Venom.

Part of Sony's burgeoning slate of Marvel films, Morbius was originally slated to arrive on July 10, 2020. The movie was then bumped to July 31 before the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it again, first to March 19, 2021, and then to Oct. 8, 2021. Finally, the film was pushed to January 2022 before many studios regained confidence in the theatrical market bouncing back.

If the trailer leak is legitimate, this will be yet another way Sony is attempting to connect its various Marvel films. Venom: Let There Be Carnage's end credits scene already tied the franchise to the MCU Spider-Man movies. Meanwhile, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa teased an appearance by Venom back in August. Even if the symbiote doesn't appear, it's clear that Leto's character knows who he is -- and it proves Eddie Brock's BFF loves saying his iconic line if Morbius is aware of it.

For now, fans will have to wait for the trailer's official release tomorrow to know how accurate the leak is -- and see it in decent quality, as the version out now is difficult to view. And with the movie finally set to arrive at the start of next year, any potential connections and cameos won't stay under wraps for long.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius arrives in theaters Jan. 28, 2022.
