As principal photography on Sony's Morbius continues in London, Jared Leto has shared a first look at the title character.
In a post on his Twitter account, Leto shared a photo from the film's set, in-character as Michael Morbius, Marvel's living vampire. While the actor was partially obscured, it does provide a first look at the character.
Additionally, Leto's post indicates that there are eleven weeks of principal photography remaining, putting the solo antihero film on track to wrap filming by late May for its 2020 theatrical release.
Based on the Spider-Man supporting character of the same name, the Sony film will reportedly take place in the same cinematic universe as this past year's Venom. Details for the film's story are still under wraps but will also reportedly include Morbius' friend-turned-foe Loxias Crown in some capacity.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life) from a script written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Lost in Space), Sony's Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft and Jared Harris. The film will hit theaters on July 31, 2020.
