Morbius director Daniel Espinosa believes the version of Miles Morales from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is destined for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While discussing the connections between the MCU and Sony's own Spider-Man universe in relation to Vulture appearing in Morbius, Espinosa told Uproxx that the "Miles Morales that you have in Spider-Verse, I would bet your life on that you would have Miles Morales from the Spider-Verse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point."

Released in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces a version of Miles Morales voiced by Shameik Moore and follows his journey from average Brooklyn teenager to web-slinging superhero. As the title implies, the movie also introduces numerous other versions of Spider-Man from different universes, and the upcoming sequel looks to double down on the premise.

"It's true, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is Part One of two films," co-writer Christopher Miller said when the title of the two-part sequel was announced. "Me, [Philip Lord], [Justin K. Thompson], [Kemp Powers], [Joaquim Dos Santos] and an incredible crew are working on both films simultaneously!" He also confirmed that, in addition to Moore, Hailee Steinfeld and Oscar Isaac reprising their Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse roles as Miles, Gwen Stacey/Spider-Woman and Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) will feature "a bunch of old friends... and many new ones."

As for Miles in the MCU, the character's impending arrival has been teased on more than one occasion. The most notable was in Spider-Man: Homecoming with the introduction of Donald Glover's Aaron Davis. In the comics, Aaron Davis is not only the villainous Prowler but Miles' uncle, and the MCU version mentions he has a nephew in New York City. In No Way Home, Jamie Foxx's Max Dillon/Electro also notes that he thought Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was Black, leading many to believe this was a nod to the Afro-Latino Miles.

It's also worth noting a live-action Miles Morales movie rumor surfaced in November 2021, though there's been no word on the potential project since.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) swings into theaters Oct. 7.
