Morbius may still be some time away from hitting screens, but new details have surfaced from the delayed film-- a major spoiler at that. Director Daniel Espinosa recently revealed that Venom's Tom Hardy will appear.

In an interview with Swedish outlet MovieZine, Espinosa discussed the experience of directing notable stars and stated (translated from Swedish), "It usually feels strange before the day begins, when you look at the schedule and stand on set. When you walk around there, the recording looks just like a Swedish production, but then you look at the schedule and read names like Michael Keaton, Jared Leto and Tom Hardy." He added, "It feels cool and very exciting. But when you start to work, it's the same thing. An actor wants a director and and actor wants to be directed."

Michael Keaton's appearance in the upcoming film was revealed in a trailer for Morbius. It is unknown if he will be reprising his role as Adrian Toomes from Spider-Man: Homecoming, which, unlike Sony's Morbius and Venom, is entirely set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Morbius has been delayed several times for a variety of reasons. It was originally scheduled to premiere on July 10, 2020, but was pushed back by three weeks. Following the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Morbius was delayed until March 2020, then October 2020. It was delayed one more time and currently has a released date of Jan. 28, 2022.
