Morbius stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a talented scientist who suffers from a rare genetic blood disorder. His search for treatment leads him to an unconventional cure that turns him into a pseudo-vampire. Morbius gains enhanced strength, agility and hearing but also a thirst for blood. Matt Smith plays Milo, Morbius' childhood friend who also suffers from the same blood disorder and takes Morbius' cure himself. Although Morbius is conflicted by his bloodlust, Milo feels no such guilt, setting the two friends and vampires against each other.

Morbius is also part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe alongside Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Sony has big plans for the Spider-Man franchise, with Kraven the Hunter currently filming for a January 2023 release and Madame Web in pre-production. The post-credit scenes of Morbius also hint at what's to come, as Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes/Vulture made an appearance and teased the possibility of a Sinister Six movie.

The film currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 17 percent among critics, though the fan score is much higher at 71 percent. At the box office, Morbius holds the record for the highest second-week drop for a superhero blockbuster, as the gross fell by a record 83 percent after its first feek. Star Al Madrigal acknowledged that Morbius had "problems" but also pointed to the COVID-19 pandemic as partially responsible for the poor reception. Morbius was filmed before the pandemic but was repeatedly delayed, leading to multiple cuts and edits before its release. "Because of COVID, they just had so much time to mess with it. They really messed with it," the actor said.

Morbius will be available May 17 on Digital and June 14 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
