It was previously reported the trailer would arrive at the Super Bowl LVI  in February and that the series itself was scheduled to premiere on March 30, though this was not officially confirmed by Disney or Marvel Studios. Up until now, no official reports had emerged concerning Moon Knight since the first look fans got back in November, which teased Marc Spector and his adventures as the moon-worshipping vigilante.

Details concerning the plot and characters of the series are unknown, including Hawke's character and the role he will play in Moon Knight. While the actor has maintained absolute secrecy, when it comes to the general public, as per Marvel and Disney's policy, Hawke previously revealed he told his son the secrets of the Disney+ show, explaining it was because of his son's knowledge of the comic book universe. "He came of age as that whole explosion has happened," Hawke said. "So whenever I needed to know, like, the backstory behind this god or this character, he's like, 'Ah, Dad! No, no, no, no, let me correct you on that.' So he was my go-to resource."

When it comes to Spector, who, in the comics, suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Marvel Studios appears to have assured Moon Knight will not gloss over his mental health issues, describing the superhero series in its synopsis as "a new globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder." The official synopsis also teases, "The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt."

Isaac explained in the past that Moon Knight was one of the most challenging projects of his career, stating, "I found so much room to do things that I've never done before and had been curious about and wanting to do. I could not wait to get to set, and it was the biggest workload I've ever had in my career and most challenging; by the sheer amount of stuff we had to do in eight months, and even yet, I couldn't wait to get to set and work."

Created by Jeremy Slater, the first season of Moon Knight will be comprised of six episodes and will premiere exclusively on Disney+.
